Herman George dies at 90
Herman George, 90, Wetmore, father of Dwane George of Augusta, died Saturday at a nursing home in Wetmore.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Rev. Joy Schlesselman will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the Holton Hospital Heart Monitor Fund in care of the Kansas State Bank in Holton.
He was born Sept. 14, 1894 in Lynn Creek, Mo., to William L. and Melissa Kirkendoll George.
He married Lura Ethel Whittle March 28, 1913 in Southwest City, Mo. She preceded him in death May 19, 1978.
He was a retired farmer and stockman and Reed Construction Co. employee.
Other survivors include sons, Ross of El Dorado, Vernon of Wichita; daughters, Hazel Porter of Goff, Marjorie McDaniel of Centralia, Jean Smith of Spokane, Wash., Ludema Scott of Harrodsburg, Ky., Lucille Kirk of Sabetha, Madene Fernkopf, Joan George, both of Holton; brothers, Cecil of Miami, Okla., Stanley of Pamona, Calif., Everett of Grove, Okla.; sisters, Bessie Robertson, Estie Robertson, both of Southwest City; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mulvina Record dies at 72
Mulvina A. Record, 72, Chanute, mother of Donna Stich of Douglass, died Wednesday at
as nursing center in Chanute.
Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Father Edward Steinberger officiated.
A memorial has been established with the Kidney Foundation.
She was born Feb. 24, 1913 in Chanute to Charly and Lulu Money Bright.
She married Buryl Record in 1929. He preceded her in death Aug. 11, 1975.
She was a retired employee for Burlington Manufacturing in Chanute.
She was a member of the VFW auxiliary.
Survivors also include a daughter, Marcilee Callarman of Chanute; brothers, Bill, Charles, Robert and Otto Bright, all of Chanute; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Gibson-Koch Funeral home in Chanute was in charge of arrangements.

Mother dies in Kansas City
Lucile Ruth Hamilton, 67 Kansas City, Kan., mother of Alberta Hopkins of Augusta, died July 3 following open heart surgery at a hospital there.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hesper Friends Church in Eudora. Rev. Jerry Mercer officiated and burial was in the Hesper Friends Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Hesper Friends Church.
She was born Sept. 24, 1917 in Eudora to George and Della Davis Votaw.
She was a school nurse in Kansas City, Mo.
Other survivors include a son, Timothy Hamilton of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Victor Votaw of California; sisters, Alma Knott of Parsons, Josephine Davis and Marian Freeman, both of Lawrence, Georgia Wright of Pratt, and two grandchildren, Amanda and Landon Hopkins, both of Augusta.

Ray Lister dies at 80
Ray B. Lister, 80, Lee’s Summit, Mo., brother of Robert Lister of Augusta, died Tuesday.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Floral Hills Mortuary in Kansas City, Mo.
He was a retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. electrician.
Other survivors include his wife, Viola; a son Leland of Shawnee; a daughter, Carolyn Close of Vienna, Va., and nine grandchildren.

Ex-Augustan dies in Texas
Bernard Ray St. Clair, 54, Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Augusta, died Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 5, 1930 in Mexica, Texas to Robert Wilmont and Frances Bernice Jones St. Clair.
He was a truck driver for Sherwood Van Lines in San Antonio.
He served in the U.S. Marines following World War II.
Survivors include brothers, Robert Wilmont St. Clair of Abilene, Texas and William Joseph St. Clair of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Anastacia Marie Rogers of Guymon, Okla., and Bernice Fay Vickers of Wichita.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
