Mother dies in Pittsburg
Mabel Booth, 83, Pittsburg, mother of Rev. Marvin Adams of Augusta, died yesterday.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Hamilton Baptist Church in Hamilton. Rev. Adams will officiate and burial will be in the Hamilton Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Hamilton Baptist Church.
Other survivors include her husband, Jay Clarence Booth; sons, Kenneth Adams of Kansas City, Kan., Wayne Adams of Fredonia, Max Adams of Kansas City, Mo.; stepsons, Clyde Booth of Topeka and Willy Ray Booth of Eureka; a daughter, Louise Dutton of Pittsburg, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Bass Funeral Home in Pittsburg is in charge of arrangements.
Billy J. Todd rites Thursday
A funeral services for Billy Joe Todd, 37, of rural Augusta, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel. Rev. James A. Bell will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Todd, caretaker of the RAFT Ranch, southwest of Augusta, was missing for about a week before his body was found Sunday afternoon in a pickup truck in a field at the ranch. Todd died of asphyxiation, according to authorities.
He was born July 23, 1947 in Wichita to James L. and Elmetta McQuistin Todd.
Todd served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972.
He and the former Pamela Jean Duncan were united in marriage on June 14, 1972 in Wichita.
In addition to his parents and wife, Todd leaves two daughters, Cindy and Marianne, both of the home; three brothers, James of Florida, Larry of Wichita and Andy of Mustang, Okla., and a sister, Gloria Mitchell of Wichita.

Ex Augustan dies at 79
C.A. “Andy” Anderson, 79, Springfield, Ky., formerly of Augusta, died July His funeral was July 4 at the Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield. Masonic services were held and burial was in the Hazelwood Cemetery.
He moved to the Springfield area in 1949. He was a member of the Brentwood Christian Church and was a deacon. He was a member of the Elks Club in Augusta.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia Mills and Shirlene Chastain, both of Springfield, and Joyce Clifton of Lexington, Ky.

Ella Andrus dies at 94
Ella Andrus, 94, Augusta, died Wednesday at Walnut Valley Nursing Home.
Private graveside services will be Monday at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate.
She was born July 29, 1890 in Lenoxa, Mo., to John William and Dora Ella Walters Young.
She married Harry J. Andrus Feb. 5, 1914 in Thomas, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Jesse of Wichita, Ralph of Augusta and Lee of Red Bluff, Calif.; a daughter, Ella May
Whitacre of Valley Center; a brother, Anthony Young of Colenida, Calif.; sisters, Cynthia Boyle of Little Rock, Ark., and Callie Morrison of Newark, Ark.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Four sisters, a brother, a granddaughter and twin great-grandsons preceded her in death.

Myrtle Hranicka, 87, Caldwell, sister of Millie Feemster of Augusta, died Tuesday at the Wheatland
Lodge Nursing Home in South Haven.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Schaeffer-Reager Mortuary in Caldwell. Rev. William McFall will officiate and burial will be in the Bluff City, Kan. cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
She was born Feb. 5, 1898 in Wasola, Mo., to Rev. Samuel H. and Attie Lou Palmer Daniel.
She married James Hranicka June 16, 1956 in Miami, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Lloyd Byerlee and Boyd Byerlee, both of Wichita; a brother, Rev. Alfred Daniel of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; another sister, Dora Moore of Wichita; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Hazel Hardesty, 87, Leon, died Wednesday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Leon Cemetery. Rev. Keith Mace will officiate.
She was born April 6, 1898 in Leon to Harry and Olive Brissey Richardson.
She married Glenn Hardesty June 8, 1922 in Medicine Lodge. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Artesia, NM.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.
