Father dies at Peabody
Delmer R. Sheridan, 90, father of Duane R. Sheridan of Augusta, died Sunday.
The funeral for this retired farmer will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Baker Funeral Home in Peabody.
In addition to the son here, Sheridan leaves stepsons Vernon Weddle of Texas City, Texas, Dan Weddle of Hattiesburg, Miss., Robert Weddle of Pierre, S.D., Samuel Weddle of North Platte, Neb.; stepdaughters Jane Wright of Tonto Basin, Ariz., Meryl Coulombe of Houston, Texas, Evelyn Unold of Portland, Me., Dixie Wienard of Alamogordo, N.M., Eileen Butler of Victorville, Calif.; 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Lauren Shockey once lived here
Lauren A. Shockey, 72, of Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died July 10. Shockey was born in Wichita and married Lila Jane McIntosh in 1939.
The couple then moved to Augusta where he was employed with the White Eagle refinery. From 1942 to 1945 he was stationed in Europe with the Army Air Corps.
After the war, Shockey was employed with Safeway Stores for 38 years until he retired in 1977. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Wichita.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; sons, Michael A. and Thomas M., both of Wichita; daughters, Janie K. Leonard of Wichita, Diana G. Smith of Oklahoma City and 12 grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, July 13, at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita followed by interment in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association, 2100 E. Douglas, Wichita, 67214.

Velva L. Reetz funeral Friday
Velva L. Reetz, 1304 Henry, died yesterday at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral service will be 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the First Christian Church, 1600 State. Rev. Jon Grissom will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
The casket will be closed during Friday’s service. Friends may view the deceased at the Dunsford Funeral Home prior to the service.
Memorials to the First Chrisitan Church have been suggested.
Mrs. Reetz leaves her husband, Nolan, of the home ; a son, Roger of Hiawatha; three sisters, Pat Thirsk and Rosalind Gaskill, both of Augusta, and Violet Hartman of Redding, Calif.

Arthur C. Mulch funeral today
A funeral service for Arthur C. Mulch, 90, of rural Augusta, was held this morning at the Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita. Mulch died Monday at Augusta Medical Complex.
Rev. Gus Kubish of Central Baptist Church officiated at today’s funeral and burial was in the Indianola Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Red Cross.
Mulch was born May 1, 1895 in Illinois to John and Anna Bogue Mulch.
Survivors include a daughter, Ilene Phillips, and a brother, Albert Mulch, both of Wichita; two sisters, Bertha James of Iola, and Clara Criser of Augusta; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Brother dies in Arkansas City
William L. Brown, 45, Arkansas City, brother of Betty Bogart of Leon, died Tuesday at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Rindt-Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Home at Arkansas City. Rev. Mike Haley of the Hillcrest Bible Baptist Church in Arkansas City will officiate and burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Tonkawa, Okla.
Brown was an apartment manager and former partner of the Allied Insurance Agency at Arkansas City. He was a member of the Hillcrest Bible Baptist Church.
He was born Feb. 29, 1940 in Salt Fork, Okla., to James and Maxine McNeil Brown.
Other survivors include a son, Matthew of Arkansas City; daughter, Steffanie Brown of Topeka; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Brown of Ponca City, Okla.; brothers, James and Robert, both of Arkansas City, and one grandchild.
Saturday service for Mrs. Heinold
Magdalene Martha Augusta Heinold, 77, Wichita, a homemaker and mother of Larry Heinold of Augusta, died yesterday.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wichita. Rev. John Niermann will officiate and burial will be in the Old Mission Cemetery in Wichita.
She was born Feb. 14, 1908 in Hustusford, Wis., as a daughter of Herman and Anna Justman Seefeldt.
Other survivors include husband, Herman, Wichita, and granddaughter Kelly Heinold of Augusta.
A memorial has been established with Trinity Lutheran Church. Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
