Even though he was born July 24, 1909 in Conway Springs to John Wesley and Vergie Ida Wise, Claude’s sister, Betty Jeter of Wichita, said her brother loved Augusta. “He was an Augustan first, last and always.” Wise also leaves another sister, Marian Fuller of Elkhart.
Wise grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High School. He later attended college in Wichita.
