Jessie Osborn dies at 80
Jessie B. Osborn, 80, Winfield, sister of Grace E. Kirkpatrick of Augusta, died Friday at a nursing home in Oxford.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield. Rev. Art Hays will officiate and burial will be in the Atlanta, Ks. cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Foundation.
She was born Nov. 28, 1904 in Oklahoma to Henry and Nora Bell Johnson.
She married Noah Fletcher Osborn Aug. 10, 1925. He preceded her in death.
Other survivors include sons, Marion L. of Burden, Ray of Tonkawa, Okla; daughter, Naomi Price of Oxford; brother, Roy Johnson of Iola; another sister, Marie Bane of El Dorado; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.,

Frank Scobee dies at 65
Frank Scobee, 65, Emporia, brother of Eva Randall of Augusta, died Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Topeka.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home there. Rev. Dean Flanner officiated and burial was in Burns, Ks. cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Beta Sigma Phi heart fund.
He was born July 8, 1920 in Rosalia to George William and Maude Schroyer Scobee He married Lucille Milligan. She survives.
He was a retired city of Emporia street department employee.
Other survivors include sons, Frank D., Bobby, both of Emporia, Richard of Madison; daughters, Mary Claybrook of Wichita, Joyce Horst of Emporia; stepsons, Harold Shaw of Emporia, Jimmie Shaw of Iola, Koye Shaw of Independence, Mo., Gerald Shaw of Glenwood, Iowa, Billy Shaw of Madison; stepdaughter, Judy Shaw of Emporia; brothers, Doug of Haven, George of Afton, Okla.,
Al of El Dorado; sisters, Nora Spurgson of Wellsford, Ruby Long of Bucklin; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson and 13 step grandchildren.

Car accident claims youth
Gage Travis Ream, 18, El Dorado, grandson of Betty Castle of Augusta, died yesterday from injuries suffered in a automobile accident on the Kansas Turnpike near Emporia.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado.
A memorial has been established with Circle High School in Towanda.
He was born Nov. 18, 1966 in Emporia to Gary Lee and Karen DeLome Stutsman Ream.
He was a freshman at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He played the saxaphone in the KU Jazz Band and was active in the forensic and music activities there.
He a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eureka.
Other survivors include his father and stepmother, Gary and Loxie Ream of El Dorado; his mother and stepfather, DeLome and Jerry Dixon of Overland Park; brothers, Dougalas Ream and John Harding, both of Wichita; sisters, Kim Handley of Kansas City, Mo., and Kris Harding of El Dorado; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Ream of El Dorado, and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Stutsman of Bullhead City, Ariz.; great-grandmother, Freda Ream of Newton.

Richard Howes dies at 51
Richard H. Howes, 51, Wichita, forermly of Douglass, died Monday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate and burial will be in the Douglass Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 16, 1933 in Devils Lake, N.D. to Leonard and Minnie Christensen Howes.
He was a machinist at the L&S Machine Shop in Wichita.
Survivors include sons, Leland, Gordon; daughters, Sheila Sweet, Susan Best, all of Wichita; brother, Lee of Starkweather, N.D., and six grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Mortuary in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Father dies in Wichita
Herman Fischgrabe, 94, Wichita, father of Dora Rumbaugh and Flora Miller, both of Douglass, died Monday at the Veterans Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the DeVorss Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. William Scott will officiate and burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bentley.
He was born July 12, 1891 in Hebron, Neb., to Christian and Maria Fells Fischgrabe.
He was a retired farmer and served in the U.S. Army during World War I.
Other survivors include daughters, Lula Seel of Wichita, Viola Noland of Buffalo, Mo.; stepson, Elgin Batson of Bishop, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
