Dorothy Rhoads dies at 75
Dorothy K. Rhoads, 75, Wichita, sister of Doris Kingsley of Augusta, died today at Hillhaven Nursing Home in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison Jr., will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial, has been established with the American Cancer Society.
She was born June 5, 1910 in Bloomington Township to George W. and Hattie J. Bunnell Kingsley.
She married Raymond Ivan Rhoads. He survives.
She was a retired Derby school teacher and a member of the East Heights Methodist Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include a daughter, Carol A. Rhoads of Wichita, and brothers, Z.D. Kingsley of Lyons, Doran Kingsley of Liberal.
A brother, Dean, preceded her in death.

Ruth Kearney, 72, Tahlequah, Okla., mother of Marge Bolinger of 1904 Meadowlake, died this morning at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
Albert Grittman dies at AMCI
Albert W. Grittman of Glasco, the father of Helen Dickerson of 1703 Highland, died this morning at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Dean Funeral Home in Glasco.

Ruth Kearney service Monday
Ruth Bly Kearney, 72, Tahlequah, Okla., mother of Marge Bolinger of Augusta, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah. Burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Eastern Gate Baptist Church, 302 N. Maple, Tahlequah, Okla., 74464.
She was born Sept. 2, 1913 in Bartlesville, Okla, to Van and Nora Ward Bly.
She married Knon Brown who preceded her in death. She married Wes Kearney who also preceded her in death.
Other survivors include sons, Leonard Brown of Tahlequah, Norman Brown of Oakland, Calif.; a daughter, Dorothy Anderson of Wichita; brothers, Givens Bly of Wichita, Bill Bly of Stillwell, Okla., Roy Bly of Broken Bow, Okla., and Bob Bly of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Louise Barker of Antioch, Calif.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A sister, Lelah Wolfe, also preceded her in death.
A.W. Grittman rites in Glasco
Albert William Grittman, 90, Glasco, father of Helen Dicker-son of Augusta, died Thursday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Glasco. Burial will be in the Glasco Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 7, 1895 in Glasco to Jacob and Augusta Pinkall Grittman.
Grittman married Ota Marie Romeiser in 1921 in Glasco. She preceded him in death.
He was a retired grocery store owner.
Other survivors include sons, Gerald of Stanton, Calif., Kenneth of Houston, Texas, and Ron of Minnetonka, Minn.; a brother, Ernest of Beloit; a sister, Frances Grittman of Concordia; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Nina Peters dies at 76
Nina A. Peters, 76, Halstead, formerly of Douglass, died Wednesday at a health center in Halstead.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the El Paso Cemetery in Derby. Rev. Bob Baer will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the Halstead Hospital.
She was born March 4, 1909 in Zenda to Arthur and Minnie Myrtle Reece Winkle.
She married William John Peters. He preceded her in death June 8, 1985.
She was a member of the Madison Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Peters of Mulvane, Duane Peters of Jenks, Okla., Myron Peters of Aurora, Colo.; daughters, Nancy Powell of Halstead and Nola Marion of Neosho, Mo.; brothers, Perry Winkle of Seattle, Wash., and Bill Winkle of Valley Center; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
'Babe’ Williams died yesterday
Arthur Frank “Babe” Williams, Wallace, N.C., formerly of Augusta and a brother of Roy Williams of Augusta, died of cancer yesterday in Wallace.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace, N.C.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He was born in Augusta to Elizabeth and Frank Williams in 1918.
Wiliams was a brick layer and a construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; a daughter, Tina, and a son, Mike; sisters, Loma Edens of Willmington, N.C., and three grandchildren.
