Harold E. Tyson funeral Friday
Harold E. Tyson, 83, Wichita, died Tuesday at the St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the father of Anita Patterson of Douglass and stepfather of Steve Brown at Benton.
His funeral service will be 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Haysville United Methodist Church. Rev. Fred Pinkerton will officiate and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Oatville, Kan.
Tyson was born Jan. 16, 1902 at Wichita as a son of Garrett G. and Dora Blue Tyson.
His married his First wife, the former Lucille R. Carter, Sept.
19, 1924. She preceded him in death.
On March 21, 1970, Tyson married Faye Brown in a ceremony at Haysville. She survives.
He was a member of the Methodist Church. Memorials to the oncology department at St. Joseph Medical Center have been suggested by the family.
In addition to his daughter, stepson and wife, Tyson leaves another daughter, Hariette Schramm of Wichita; another stepson, Gary Brown of San Diego, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Marlene Robinson of Ennis, Texas; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
The Webb Mortuary at Clearwater is in charge of arrangements.

Homer Peak dies at 65
Homer Peak, 65, Emporia, father of Homer L. Peak of Augusta, died Saturday at St Mary’s Hospital there.
His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m tomorrow at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Rev. Galen Hinshaw will officiate and burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia.
He was born Feb. 16, 1920 in Lyon County to Frederick Fenton and Jennie Sanders Peak.
He married Dorothy Lee Marcellus in Emporia Sept. 24, 1941. She survives.
He was a retired Fanestil Packing Co., employee.
He served in the Military Police during World War II in the U.S. Army.
Other survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Howard A. of Emporia; a brother, Ralph of Emporia; sister, Edna Bales of Americus, and a grandson, Anthony Martin Peak of Augusta.
A memorial has been established with St. Mary’s Hospital Respiratory Care Unit in Emporia.

Traffic accident claims grandson
Gary Michael Staley, 28, Wichita, grandson of Roberta Ruggles of Augusta, died Sunday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Kechi Cemetery. Clifford Payne will officiate.
He was born Oct. 22, 1957 in Hollywood, Calif., to Orville and Wilma Merritt Staley.
He was a maintenance worker at the Coleman Co. in Wichita.
Other survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. Staley of Wichita; sisters, Orvetta Emond of Conway Springs, Cheryl Osterman of Wichita, Deborah Keith of Mildred, and another grandmother, Margaret Staley of Olathe.
DeVorss Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
Bernard J. Sapp dies in Colorado
Bernard J. Sapp, 59, Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Augusta, died at his home Nov. 19.
Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 22 at the Grandview Cemetery. Rev. Monte Baker officiated.
He was born April 2, 1926 in Augusta.
He married Virginia Williams May 18, 1946 in Buffalo, N.Y. She survives.
He graduated from Augusta High School and moved to Fort Collins in 1971 from Augusta.
Sapp was a master electrician and plumber.
He was, a member of the First Christian Church in Augusta. He served in the Coast Guard and the Navy. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Other survivors include daughters, Suzanne Ades of Leon; Cynthia Burrows and Linda Mills, both of Fort Collins, and six grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Cancer Aid and Research Center in care of Warren-Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins.

Mother dies in France
Mrs. Derminizier, Couuches, France, mother of Renee Tarman of Augusta, died Monday.
Other survivors include a son-
in-law, Bob Tarman.

Ex-Augustan dies at 56
Joan Hutto, 56, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died Monday.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home in Wichita.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
She and her husband, Gene, were associated with the Larson Shoe Store here. When the Huttos moved to Wichita, she became secretary-treasurer to Alan Appliance Service Inc.
Survivors include her husband,
Gene, of the home; a son, Marc Hutto and a daughter, Debbie Hutto, both of Wichita, and two grandchildren.
