Halsey Engle dies at 31
Halsey Eugene Engle, 31, Route 2, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita from injuries suffered in an industrial accident in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Miller will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 23, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Ernest Eugene and Caroline Frances May Engle.
He married Susan Ann Drake May 18, 1985 in Wichita. She survives.
He was a welder for Ed Dunn Sign Co., in Wichita.
He served in the Army.
Other survivors include a son, Delbert Wayne Engle of Independence; a stepson, Kevin McTague of Oklahoma; a daughter, Heather Engle of Wichita; stepdaughters, Teresa Kelley, Michelle Kelley, Melinda Kelley , all of Neal; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Engle of Augusta; brothers, Darrell Wayne of Rose Hill and Ernest Eugene Jr., of Wichita; a sister, Betty Ann Maslow of West Germany; grandmother, Liddy May of Columbus, Ohio, and his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Drake of Neal.

Raymond Price dies at 75
Raymond Lee Price, 75, Augusta, died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Ted Swope of Bethel Baptist Church in Wichita will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Kidney Foundation of Kansas and Western Missouri, 2308 E. Central, Wichita, Kan., 67214.
He was born Feb. 18, 1910 in Centrahoma, Okla., Tilman Lee and Emma Hamilton Price.
He married Florence E. Grammer on March 10, 1928 in Wilburton, Okla. She preceded him in death in 1973.
He farmed in southeastern Oklahoma until the 1930s and migrated to the West Coast to find work during the Depression. He worked in lumber camps in California and Oregon to support his family that remained in Oklahoma. When the economy became more stable, he return to Oklahoma and farming.
He went to work in a grocery store in Fall River in 1949 with his brother, Johnny. When his brother sold the grocery store in the early 1960s, Raymond Price worked as a butcher at grocery stores in El Dorado, Wellington and Arkansas City.
In 1970 he moved to Augusta and took a job as custodian at the junior high. He retired in 1973.
Survivors include sons, Truman of Security, Colo., James of Fall River, Stanley of Orange Park, Fla., and Roger of Lumber-ton, Texas; daughters, Norma Jean Poore and Brenda Blowers of Augusta, Oleta Goforth of Arkansas City, and Wanda May Price of Medford, Okla., Winona Brown of Wynona, Okla.; brothers, Samual of Hartshorne, Okla., Johnny of Camp Verde, Ariz.; sisters, Audrey Ezell of Pismo Beach, Calif., Stella McElrath of Bay City, Texas, Virgie Adrian of Hartshorne, Lucille Matthews of Camp Verde, Ethel Lessing of San Antonio, Texas, and Ruby Kinnikin of Los Lunas,
N.M.; 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Elmer J. Hayes died Saturday
Elmer James Hayes, 54, Wichita, father of Gayle Bates of Augusta, died Saturday.
Funeral services are pending.
He was a truck driver.
Other survivors include wife, Mary; sons, Bobby Searon of Burrton, Dick, Elmer J. Jr., both of Wichita; daughters, Darlene York of Reno, Nev., Vernadine Wargo, Linda Hayes, Pam Conner, Dena Hayes, all of Wichita, Michelle Ballard of Angleton, Texas; mother, Capitola Hayes of Wichita; brothers, John Marshall of Wichita, Jean of Houston, Ark., Jack of Lincolnville, Joel of Florence, Walt, Vernon, Allen, all of Wichita; sisters, Jane Hook of Wichita, June Haskins of Oxford, Reba Flower of Winfield, and 22 grandchildren.
Jessie Carman dies at 71
Jessie Drusilla Carman, 71, Albuquerque, N.M., a former Augustan, died at a hospital in Albuqerque Friday.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. Rev. Harry Vanderpool officiated and burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery there.
She lived in Augusta from 1951 to 1963.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Fred; daughters, Becky Carman White and Beth Carman Reeves, both of Albuqerque; three grandchildren; sisters, Sadie Carter, Dorothea Kerr, both of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, Okla, Sherman, Lowell and Engle Lawhorn, all of Tulsa, and three grandchildren.
She was an aunt of Drusilla Purdin of Augusta.
Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Home in Albuquerque was in charge of arrangements.
