Brother dies in Wellington
John Larsen, 56, Wellington, brother of Dolores Turner of Augusta, died Sunday at a hospital there.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington. Rev. Aully Holst will officiate.
Memorials have been established with the Shrine Burn Center or the Avenue of Flags in care of the Frank Funeral Home in Wellington.
He was born April 1, 1929 in Wellington to Oscar and Grace Rains Larsen.
He was a farmer-stockman.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion in Wellington, and the Wichita Consistory Midian Shrine.
Other survivors include a son, John L. II of Wellington; a daughter, Denise Crossman of Topeka, and a granddaughter.

Nellie Poindexter died in Nebraska
Nellie Clingler Poindexter, Indianola, Neb., sister of Maxine Algrim of Augusta, died this morning at a McCook, Neb., hospital.
Services are pending.
A sister-in-law, Getha Poindexter of Augusta, also survives.

Max Brewer dies at 85
Max A. Brewer, 85, Wichita, brother of Elsie Tilloson of Augusta, was found dead Wednesday in his home.
No service is scheduled.
He was born Jan. 29, 1900 to W.S. and Mattie Jane McGhee Brewer.
He was a self-employed carpet cleaner.
Other survivors include a son, Bill of Wichita; sisters, Sue Bausch, Eiley Strong, both of Wichita; one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Lakeview Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Stepfather dies in Humboldt
Elmer E. Lewis, 63, Humboldt, stepfather of Joan Diver of Augusta, died Tuesday at a nursing home there.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Neosho Falls, Kan., Methodist Church. Rev. Susan Montgomery and Rev. Roy Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Vale Cemetery in Neosho Falls.
He was born Nov. 3, 1922 in Coffey County to Roy L. and Sarah Metzger Lewis.
He married Blanche Henry Dec. 4, 1966. She survives.
He was a retired Young Welding Shop welder.
Other survivors include a stepson, Bill of Yorktown, Texas; stepdaughters Mary Wade, Lois Ridge, both of Humboldt; brother, Clarence of Humboldt; sister, Claramae Mathies of Mission, Texas, and nine step-grandchildren.
Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels in Iola is in charge of arrangements.

Son-in-law dies in Missouri
Ober and AuDeen Lichlyter of Augusta have received word concerning the death of their son-in-law, Virgil L. Rockhold, 54, of Memphis, Mo. He died at the Bloomfield, Iowa, hospital Wednesday night.
Funeral serivices are pending, but burial is expected to be in the Granger Cemetery. Memorials to the Cancer Fund are suggested.
Rockford was born Aug. 26, 1931 to Noah and Bulah Rockhold in Arbelia, Mo.
He married LaWanda (Lichlyter) Beye July 10, 1954. She survives.
Rockhold also leaves sons: Randall of Minden, Ill.., Kevin of
Dallas, Texas, and Brent of Arbelia, Mo.; a daughter: Denise of Kirksville, Mo.; step-daughters: Janice Yates of Kahoka, Mo., and Sharon Flint of Kirksville, Mo., and 12 grandchildren.
Rockhold served with the U.S. Air Force prior to becoming a farmer 30 years ago.

Newell Jordan dies in Oklahoma
Newell Jordan, 75, Medford, Okla., father of Linda Currier of Augusta and Lula Elswick of Douglass, died Monday.
His funeral was at 1:30 p.m. today at Hill’s Chapel in Medford.
Survivors also include a son, Howard Jordan of Medford; daughters, Joyce Clark of Boise, Idaho, Aletta Conrady of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren including Debbie and Joshua Luper of Augusta, Don Currier of El Dorado, Mike Elswick of Douglass and Pam Price of Wichita.
