Marguerite Kuntz dies in Wichita
Marguerite Kuntz, 74, Udall, sister of Ida Bye and Anna DeWeese of Augusta, died yesterday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Senter-Smith Mortuary in Mulvane. Rev. Harold Peck will officiate and burial will be in the Udall Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 12, 1911 in Douglass to Samuel J. and Dora E. Landis Briles.
She married Raymond Kuntz Nov. 6, 1933 in Newkirk, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, E.J. of Wichita, Frank of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughters, Flossie Kinder of Topeka, Juanita Carr of Udall; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rites here for Nellie Poindexter
Nellie Clingler Poindexter, 69, Indianola, Neb., formerly of Augusta, died Wedesday in an Aurora, Colo., hospital.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Carpenter Funeral Chapel in Indianola. Rev. Russell Shoemaker will officiate. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Indianola Ambulance Service.
She was born Jan. 2, 1916 in Augusta to Lee Roy and Florence Heath Clingler.
She married Ted Franklin Poindexter July 21, 1935 in Butler County. He survives.
Other survivors a son, Ted Joseph Poindexter of Akron, Colo.; daughter, Janell Kay Hagard of Indianola; a brother, Charles of Ellinwood; sisters, Lydia Nielsen of Wichita and Maxine Algrim of Augusta; 10 grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Getha Poindexter of Augusta.

Golda Burghart dies at 82
Golda F. Burghart, 82, Chanute, mother of Pauline Siler of Douglass, died Thursday at the Douglass Nursing Center in Douglass.
Her funeral was at 1:30 p.m. today at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute. Pastor Ross Fees officiated and burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute.
She was born April 27, 1903 in Ohio to James and Minnie Huble Brandon.
She married George W. Burghart Oct. 4, 1922. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1955.
She lived most of her life in Chanute where she was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Zion Lutheran Church.
Other survivors include sons, George of Kansas City, Kan., Garold of Chanute; daughters, Mary Nystrom of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ann Wilson of Rose Hill, Betty Bright of Chanute, Dorene Henderson of Wichita; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The Johnson Mortuary in Chanute was in charge of arrangements.

Dee Gipson dies at 74
Dee Gipson, 74, Fort Smith,
Ark., father of Judy Johnson of Augusta, died Sunday in Fort Smith.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Frank Miller will officiate.
He was born Feb. 17, 1911 to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gipson.
He married Dorothea Helen Burris Gipson Jan. 15, 1938 in Augusta. She preceded him in death in 1984.
He was a retired Butler County employee.
Other survivors include daughters, Helen Huff of Fort Smith, Betty Vinson of Madill,
Okla., and Jean Libel of Colwich; brothers, Robert Gipson of Colwich, Cecil Gipson of Wellington, Calif., Virgil Gipson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Delbert Gipson of Douglasville, Ga.; a sister, Opal Russell of Norwalk,
Calif.; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mavis E. Merscham dies at Topeka
Mavis E. Merscham, 65, Topeka, mother of Judy Dryden of rural Augusta, died last Thursday at her home.
Her funeral was yesterday at Topeka and burial was in the Rochester Cemetery there. The Pennwell-Gable Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
In addition to Mrs. Dryden, Merscham leaves her husband, Lloyd, of the home, five other children, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Leo Dunagan dies at 85
G. Leo Dunagan, 85, Douglass, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate and burial will be in the Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass United Methodist Church.
He was born Sept. 20, 1900 in Douglass to George W. and Luceilia Stanley Dunagan.
He married Genevieve Weir April 12, 1924 in Great Bend. She survives.
He was a retired Douglass postmaster.
Other survivors are five grandchildren including Jeffrey Kent Dunagan of Rose Hill.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.
