Frank Chance Dies At 72
Frank Leon Chance, 72, 1809 State, died Wednesday, April 7, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 9, at the First Christian Church. Rev. Richard Bacon will officiate and burial will be at the Dewey, Okla., cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church.
The casket will be closed at the church service, but it will be open at the Dunsford Funeral Home prior to that time.
He was bom Nov. 9, 1909 in Cairo, W. Va., to James and Vida Payne Chance.
He married Mae Hall Dec. 19, 1928 in Kansas City, Mo. She survives.
He worked in oil production for Cities Service Co., and was a member of the Christian church.
Other survivors include two sons, J.D. Chance of Bartlesville, Okla., and Hal Chance of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Edward Chance of St. John; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Stepbrother’s Name Added
The name of E.T. “Abe” Brown’s stepbrother, Essley Elgin, was omitted from the obituary.
Brown, 67, Route 3, died April 10 at the Augusta Medical Complex. He was a retired Mobil Oil Corp. employee.

Abe Brown Dies At 67
E.T. “Abe” Brown, 67, Route 3, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Ax-mann will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was bom Jan. 3, 1915 in Wichita to William and Mary Strong.
He married Nadine Offill Aug. 21, 1936 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a retired Mobile Oil Corporation employee. He served in the military during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, other survivors include a son, Gary E. Brown of Augusta; a brother Roy Brown of Council Grove, and two sisters, Fern Oakes of Erie and Edna Capps of Augusta.

J.L. Ireland Dies At 51
Jonny Lee Ireland, 51, Leon, died Saturday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Kirby Morris Funeral Home. Rev. Vernon Frantz will officiate and burial will be at the Leon Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Heart Association.
He was bom June 23, 1931 in Leon to Roy and Margaret Holt Ireland.
He married Mary Lou Schafer Aug. 28, 1952 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a retired chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy.
Other survivors include a son, Perry Ireland of Orlando, Fla., a daughter, Maria Bryant of El Dorado; mother, Margaret Ireland of Leon, and a sister, Mary Lou Smith of Bums, and two grandchildren.

Clara Stores Dies At 74
Clara Isabel Stores, 74, 1201 Money, died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Her service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Greer will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was bom March 24, 1908 in Fall River to Gevessie and Lula Miller Baker.

Ruby Lusk Dies At 79
Ruby M. Lusk, 79, Sun City, Calif., died Saturday.
A funeral service for the homemaker and retired school teacher will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Douglass United Methodist Church with Rev. John Martin officiating and burial in the Douglass cemetery.
She was bom Dec. 21, 1903 at Glenarm, Ill., to Charles F. and Nancy E. Plummer Davis.
In July of 1931, she married C. Russell Lusk. He survives.
During her life, Mrs. Lusk taught school at Douglass, Rock and Arkansas City.

Memorial Set
A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church for E.T. “Abe” Brown.
The 67-year-old rural Augusta, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His service was Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Axmann officiated and burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery.
