Grandfather dies in Attica at 95
Ira J. Blasdel, 95, Attica, grandfather of Vickie Knebler of Augusta, died Tuesday at an Attica hospital.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the United Methodist Church in Attica . Rev. Robert Ely and Rev. Raymond Hall will officiate and burial will be in the Attica Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church in Attica.
He was born Oct. 20, 1890 in Harper County to Smith Roe and Mary Ann Dolling Blasdel.
He married Carrie L. Sassaman March 24, 1918 in Attica. She preceded him in death Aug. 12, 1983.
He was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include a sister, Zoe Brown of Atticaa; another granddaughter, Carol Kaufman of Midland, Texas; four great-granddaughters.
A daughter, Barbara Thomas; a brother, Jesse, and sisters, Cora Williams and Inez Campbell also

Ruby Anderson dies at 70
Ruby I. Anderson, 70, Fredonia, mother of Metta Lakin of Augusta, died Tuesday at the Fredonia Regional Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Methodist Church in New Albany. Rev. Jack and Rev. Marilyn Gregory will officiate. Burial will be in the Weakley Cemetery in New Albany.
She was born Aug. 25, 1915 in Elk County to Robert and Nancy Morgan Richards.
She married Melvin Anderson Aug. 25, 1931 in Fredonia. He survives.
She was a member of the New Albany United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include sons, Donald of Fredonia, Jerry of St. Helens, Ore., Melvin of Hanford, Calif., Richard of Ash Grove, Mo.; other daughters, Betty Blaker of Burrton, Effie Houchin of St. Helens, Nancy Wescott of Willard, Mo.; brothers, Rex Richards of California, Harold Richards of Rantoul; sisters, Metta Petty of New Albany, Lucille Chrismas of Erie, Mary Hickox of Fredonia; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The Timmons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Father dies in Wichita
Arthur P. Asmann, 81, Wichita, father of Doris M. Langley of Douglass, died Friday at his home.
There was no service.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
He was born June 5, 1904 in Tampa to Arthur and Auguste Hoffrichter Asmann.
He married Martha Cooper. She survives.
He was a retired Wesley Regional Medical Center security employee.
Other survivors include a brother, Verner of Wichita; sisters, Ella Sullivan of Pratt, Frieda Sparman of Wichita, Clara Richmond of Sterling, Colo., Verna Critzer of Okmulgee, Okla.; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Sister dies in Olathe
Mrs. Irwin Kirby, Spring Hill, sister of Leonard Lininger of Augusta, died Friday in the Olathe Community Medical Center.
A memorial service was in the United Methodist Church of Spring Hill Sunday. She was buried in the Bucyrus, Kan. cemetery.
Among those at the service were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lininger of Augusta and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lininger of Wichita.

Della M. Self funeral Tuesday
Della Marie Self, 50, Augusta, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church. Rev. Robert L. Lourance and Rev. Rick Crossette will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado.
She was born Sept. 16, 1935 in Jericho Springs, Mo., to Howard and Ruth Throckmorton Henderson.
She married J.R. Self Dec. 16, 1951 in El Dorado. He survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Other survivors include sons, Roger Lynn, James Randall, both of Douglass, Timothy Lee of Redlands, Calif., Paul Leslie of Towanda; daughters, Sally Jolene Edwards of Bethany, Okla., Patricia Ann Emery of Wichita; brothers, Howard Henderson of Farmington, N.M., Vernon Henderson of Apple Valley, Minn., Darrell Henderson of Fair-field, Calif., Gerald Henderson of Augusta; sisters, Helen Hendricks of Potwin and Edna Moody of Augusta, and 12 grandchildren.
A infant son preceded her in death.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
