Guy Hammond died at 85
Guy Hammond, 84, Arkansas City, formerly of Augusta, died Friday at his home.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Chapel in Arkansas City. Rev. Jerald K. Hooley officiated and burial was in the Riverview Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church in Arkansas City.
He was born April 20, 1901 in rural Augusta to Sidney and Rose Robson Hammond.
He married Bernice Van Kirk Jan. 24, 1923 in Wichita. She survives.
He attended school in Augusta. He was a bookkeeper for the Tubbs Motor Company.
Other survivors include a daughter, Shirley Ann Brown, Lake Charles, La.; a grandson, Phillip Brown of Arkansas City; a nephew, Wesley Hammond of Augusta, and cousins including Morris Hammond and Forrest Hammond and Leota French, all of Augusta.

Dorothy Miller dies in Eureka
Dorothy M. Miller, 80 Eureka, mother of June Hamilton of Augusta, died Sunday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka. Dr. Gilbert Daniel will officiate and burial will be in the Piedmont, Kan., cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
She was born May 26, 1905 in Guthrie, Okla., to James T. and Lucy Cooper Biggs.
She married Frank A. Miller in Guthrie July 25, i926. He preceded her in death June 15,
1974.
She was a member of the
Christian and Congregation Church in Eureka.
Other survivors include a son, Tom of Wichita; another daughter, Beulah Mast of Severy; three grandchildren and 10 grandchildren.

Harold W. Lietzke funeral Thursday
Harold Wayne Lietzke, 72, El Dorado, brother of Donald Lietzke of Augusta, died Sunday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Garry Wright will officiate and burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
A memorial has been established with the El Dorado Nazarene Church.
He was born Nov. 3, 1913 at Haverhill to Albert and Mary Ann Grant Lietzke.
He married Dorothy Dodson Nov. 24, 1934 in El Dorado. She survives.
Lietzke was a service manager at Rice Chevrolet in El Dorado for 40 years. He retired in 1975.
He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in El Dorado.
Other survivors include a son, Harry of Leon; daughters, Barbara Henman of Leon, Dedra Bishop of McLoud, Okla., and Peggy Casper of Great Bend; a godson, Donald Dodson of El Dorado; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Ila Britt dies at 59
Ila M. Britt, 59, Junction City, mother of Rodney L. Britt of Augusta, died Tuesday.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Mass-Hinitt-Alexander Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established with Geary Community Hospital.
Other survivors include her husband, Joe; sons, Gary A. of Denver, Colo., Carol Autry of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother, Clifford Stull of Scottsbluff, Neb.; sisters, Velma Knoderler of Gering, Neb., Lorrine Lockwood of Fort Collins, Colo., and four grandchildren.

Former Augustan dies in Texas
Jim Norris of Guymon, Okla., formerly an Augusta resident employed by Mobil Pipeline Company, died Monday, Feb. 3, in an Amarillo Texas hospital.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Snyder, Texas.

Myrtle E. Sheffer died Tuesday
Myrtle E. Sheffer, 95, a Walnut Valley Nursing Home resident, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Robert Brooks will officiate.
She was born May 29, 1890 in Augusta.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Mae McCall died Tuesday at AMCI
Mae Corenne McCall, 81, 20 Cliff Drive, died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Central Baptist Church in Augusta. Rev. Timothy Ayres will officiate and burial will be in the Benton, Kan. cemetery.
She was born Aug. 14, 1904 in Benton to Clarence and Tiny Henry Dill.
She married Ervin Raymond McCall Oct. 17, 1925 in Benton. He preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1971.
She lived in Buffalo, Mo., where she was a nurses aide at the Chastins Nursing Home. She moved to Augusta in 1972. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ray Jr. of Towanda; a daughter, Naomi George of Wichita; brothers, Vestal Dill of Augusta, LeRoy Dill of Albuquerque, N.M., Paul Dill of Simi Valley, Calif., Willard Dill of Hillsboro, Ore.; a sister, Lucille Johnson of El Dorado; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
