Esther A. Wilt dies in Winfield
Esther A. Wilt, 71, Winfield, a sister of Thelma Flint of Douglass, died Tuesday at a Winfield hospital.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield. Rev. Linda and Rev. George Kemp will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Winfield.
There is a memorial with the American Diabetes Association.
She was born Jan. 27, 1915 in Dexter to Claude and Ina Skull Reynolds.
She married Edward E. Wilt Aug. 16, 1940 in Dexter. He survives.
She owned and operated Esther’s Junque, an antique and collectables shop in Winfield.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Royal Neighbors.
Other survivors include a daughter, Zona Appleby of Riverside, Calif.; two granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.

Epha Deer dies in Arizona
Epha Deer, 65, Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Augusta, died Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate. There will be a private graveside service in Altoona.
A memorial has been established with the Emporia State University special education department.
She was born March 6, 1921 in Altoona to Fred and Jella Hyde.
She was a former special education teacher in Augusta. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include sons, Montie of Wichita and David of Overland Park; brothers, H.R. Hyde of Alaska and Wayne Hyde of Davis, Calif.; a sister, Bessie Lance of Wichita, and four grandchildren.

Lewis funeral Saturday
Breck Lewis, 75, 402 School Street, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral will be 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church, 1501 State Street. Rev. Richard Axmann will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 5, 1911 in Elamton, Ky., to William Thomas and Effie May Nickell Lewis.
He married Eileen Henry Nov. 24, 1933 in Topeka. She survives.
Lewis was a former Boeing Military Aircraft employee.
In 1959, he bought a photography and camera store from former Augustans Irene and the late Don Whitlock. He owned Breck's Studio and Camera Shop of Augusta until April of 1973 when he retired and sold the business to Fred Lassmann.
In retirement, he did TV repair work at his home.
His interests included music and travel. Lewis enjoyed playing the guitar and the mandolin and listening to music.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Jimmie of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Janet Gardner of Augusta; a brother, Otey Lewis of Topeka; two sisters, Wannie Ramer of Silver Lake and Isabelle Price of Topeka; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church. The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

California truck accident kills former Augustan
Buddy Lee Bingham, 46, Alpine, Calif., former Augusta resident, died Friday from injuries in a truck accident.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Aaron Smith will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 21, 1940 in Wichita to Walter and Bessie Bingham.
He worked for a landscaping company in Alpine. He served in Vietnam with the Navy.
He was a Leon High School graduate.
Survivors include sons, Robert Lee and Patrick Michael of Vinta, Calif.; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Gonzales of Vinta; brothers, Charles W. Bingham of Sargent, Neb., and Larry Bingham and Richard Bingham of Siloam Springs, Ark.; sisters, Sue Terronez of Broken Bow, Neb., Linda Coiner of Merna, Neb., Sherry Jackson* of Callaway, Neb., Ruth Rude, Katie Morrow, Virginia Milner of Burrton, Hazel Van Horn and Margaret Keith of Tulsa, Okla.; and Peggy Ralston of Sargent; his mother, Bessie Monroe of Burrton, and four grandchildren.
