LUCILE FOWLER ... graveside service
Lucile Fowler dies at AMCI
Lucile Fowler, 94, 620 Osage Street, retired owner of the Fowler News Stand, died yesterday at Augusta Medical Complex.
Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate during a graveside service 10 o’clock Friday morning at Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born March 18, 1892 in Chicago, Ill., to Henry W. and Kate Weiler.
In 1908, she and John W. Fowler were united in marriage during a ceremony at MacKay, Idado. He preceded her in death in 1949.
The Fowler News Stand was located in the 500 block of State Street.
Mrs. Fowler, a charter member of the Sorosis and Soroptimist clubs here and a past president of Augusta Business and Professional Women, was also preceded in death by a son, Henry.
She was a 50-year member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
Survivors include a sister, Marie Kaufman of Citrus Heights, Calif., a grandson, Jack Fowler of Oklahoma City, Okla., two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel M. Hart dies at 91
Hazel M. Hart, 91, Route 1, died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Quiring Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Robert Brooks will officiate.
She was born July 17, 1894 in Augusta to Salathiel and Martha Rainey McGlade.
She married Elmer Earl Hart. He died Dec. 29, 1984.
Survivors include a son, Orville C. of Augusta; daughter, Helen H. Corbin of Towanda; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church.

Melvin Swart dies, funeral Saturday
Melvin Swart, 62, Wichita, died yesterday at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita. He was a retired employee of the Coleman Co.
His funeral servvice will be 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Faith Baptist Church in Andover. Rev. Bob McGuire will officiate and burial will be in the Andover cemetery.
Swart was born March 31, 1923 at Drummond, Okla., to Glen and Gladys Swart. His mother, now Gladys Neccum of Enid, Okla., survives.
He married the former Dorothy Mertens June 3, 1952 in a ceremony at Little Rock, Ark. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Allen E. Swart of Andover; a daughter, Wanda Cash of Wichita; three brothers, six sisters, a granddaughter and two grandsons.
The Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Rickards Sr. died at his home
Harold Elmer Rickards Sr., 64, Tryon, Okla., died at his home Tuesday.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Tryon Christian Church. Rev. David Carter will officiate. A graveside service will at 4 p.m. tomorrow in the Dunlap
Cemetery in Augusta.
He was born March 19, 1921 in Augusta to Clyde and Glenn Fent Rickards.
He married Dorothy Bernice Cables.
He married Grace Ellen Lamb-son Nov. 25, 1967 in Newton. She survives.
He was a railway clerk for Santa Fe Railroad.
Survivors include sons, Daniel Davis of Muskogee, Okla.; LaMar Davis of Midwest City, Okla., Harold Richards Jr., of Petersburg, Va., Danny Lee Richards of Haysville; daughters, Elaine Baker of Wichita, Crystal Cunningham of Wichta, Aleta Garza of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Eldon Rickards of Augusta, Lester of Winsor, Mo.; sister, Grace Roads of Augusta and 18 grandchildren.
Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater is in charge of arrangements.
