Frederick Guy died Sunday
Frederick Earl Guy, 71, El Dorado, brother of Roy Guy of Augusta, died Sunday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Meanor will officiate and burial will be in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He was born Aug. 31, 1914 in Leon to Frederick H. and Maude Springer Guy.
He married Dorothy Dickson Sept. 5, 1941 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a construction representative with the Army Corps of Engineers before he retired.
Other survivors include a son, Duane of Houston, Texas; daughter, Patricia Guy of New York City, N.Y.; another brother John of Santa Barbara, Calif.; sister, Lila Guy of Junction City, and two grandchildren.

Ronald Phelps dies at 55
Ronald John Phelps, 55, Derby, father of Laura Kersting of Augusta, died Saturday.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the United Methodist Church in Coulterville, Ill.
A memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church in Coulterville.
He was a retired member of the Air Force.
Other survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, John of Derby, Donald of Colorado Springs, Colo.; another daughter, Charmagne of Derby; mother, Melba of Coulterville; brothers, Benjamin of Marissa, Ill., Dale of Sparta, Ill., Lynn of Counterville, Mike of Pittsburg, Calif.; sister, Roxie O’Rear of Coulterville, and five grandlchildren.

Rites are pending for Hollis Walker
Hollis Maynard Walker, 77, Route 2, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral is pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Catharine, and a son, Maynard of Augusta.

George Johnson Sr. died Tuesday at 68
George D. Johnson Sr., 68, Mulvane, father of Robert Johnson of Douglass, died Tuesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Smith Mortuary. in Derby. Rev. Chester E. Stevens will officiate and burial will be in the El Paso Cemetery in Derby.
He was born May 17, 1917 in Cook County, Illinois to Gustaf and Martha Lindgren Johnson.
He married Mary M. Bryden Feb. 5, 1960 in Derby. She survives.
He was a retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. employee.
Other survivors include sons, George Jr. of Derby, Fred, Glen, both of Topeka, Raymond of Hutchinson, Capt. Jerrold of Fort McCoy, Wis.; stepsons, Sgt. Kendall Wrovel of Fort Bragg, N.C., Don Wrovel of Slidell, La., Fred Withrow of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughters, Clara Johnson of Winfield, Loreda Johnson of Derby; stepdaughter, Susan Beshirs of Wichita; 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Wilma Young died Tuesday at 66
Wilma M. Young, 66, El Dorado, sister of Mary Dixon of Leon, died Tuesday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Randy Gauger will officiate and burial will be in the Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
She was born April 3, 1920 in El Dorado to William and Lena Thompson Condell.
She married Thurman A. Young Nov. 24, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She was a secretary in the Butler County Weed Department. She had worked for the county for 31 years.
Other survivors include a brother, Frank Condell of Wichita; sisters, Frances Falkner of Raytown, Mo., Barbara Allen of McKinney, Texas.

Taylor dies in hospital
Mabel Louise Taylor, 62, Douglass, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the First Christian Church in Douglass. Rev. Jim Lorensen officiated and burial was in the Douglass Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Douglass City Park and the Douglass Public Library.
She was born March 19, 1924 in Wichita to Joseph and Mildred Love Guyot.
She married James E. Taylor June 25, 1947 in Denver, Colo. He survives.
She was a cook at Medicalodge of Douglass.
Other survivors include sons, James E. II of Wichita, Jeffrey of Huntsville, Texas; daughters, Rev. Nancy L. Taylor of Gage,
