Walker funeral Monday
Funeral services for Hollis Maynard “Heavy” Walker, 77, Route 2, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
He died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Rev. Art Wilson will officiate at the funeral and burial will be in the Towanda Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
He was born Aug. 22, 1908 in Coyville to William Thomas Maynard and Fannie Melissa White Walker.
He married Cathrine Lucinda Smith Nov. 26, 1936 in Augusta. She survives.
He was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include a son, Maynard of Augusta; daughters, Betty Joan Walker of Redwood City, Calif., Patricia Conrique of Hollister, Calif., and Yvonne Brunson of Hartford, Iowa; brothers, Wayne Walker of Concord, Calif., and Richard Walker of Chanute; a sister, Ethel Phelan of Dallas, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Brother dies at 74
Colonel Monroe Disspayne, 74, Denham Springs, La., brother of Bernice Floyd of Augusta, died there March 26.
His funeral was March 27 at the Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs. Interment was March 30 in the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, La.
He was in the real estate business and had worked in the law enforcement field for many years. He was a police department investigator, a deputy sheriff and had worked as an investigator for the FBI for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife,
Annie Ruth Forbes Disspayne; a daughter, Linda Gale Hanley of Hermitage, Tenn.; sons, Robin of Denham Springs, Christopher of Louisville, Ky., and Billy of Highlands, Texas; sisters, Alma Morton and Evelyn Lawson, both of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Willie Mae Yaklin of New Lothrop, Mich., Dorothy Crabtree of Los Angeles, CAlif.; brothers, Elmer of Donelson, La., Roy of Madison, Tenn., Tom of Brighton, Mich., and Edward of San Antonio; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Elsie Lauppe dies in Wichita
Elsie E. Lauppe, 86, Wichita, stepmother of Betty Dickey of Augusta, died Friday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral was at 1 p.m. today at the Cochran Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Clayton Sanders officiated and burial was in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
She was born April 7, 1900 in Erie, Pa., to George and Elizabeth Faust Herman.
She married Walter Lauppe April 21, 1950. He survives.
She was a retired waitress.
Other survivors include stepsons, Lawrence Lauppe of Colorado Springs, Colo., Steven Lauppe of Brighton, Colo.; stepdaughters, Barbara Andres of Littleton, Colo.; brother, George Herman Sr. of Siloam Springs, Ark.; 11 step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.

Ted R. Beasley dies in Missouri
Ted Richard Beasley, 35, Beaumont, Texas, formerly of Augusta, died yesterday in Shell Knob, Mo.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. George Poe from the United Methodist Church in Shell Knob will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 6, 1950 in Wichita to Harold Richard and Valieda Ida Quillen Beasley.
He married Jonola R. Davidson Oct. 11,1977 in Augusta. She survives.
He was a mechanical helper at Mobil Oil Refinery in Beaumont. He was a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church and the National Guard.
Other survivors include daughters, Jandelyn and Jingle, both of the home; a brother, Kirk Beasley of Olathe, and parents, Harold and Valieda Beasley of Shell Knob.

Betty Patterson died Saturday
Betty June Patterson, 57, Cherokee, Okla., formerly of Augusta, died Saturday at a daughter’s home in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Friends Church in Cherokee. Rev. Robert Hutson and Rev. Don Lacy will officiate and burial will be in the Manchester, Okla., cemetery.
She was born April 24, 1928 in Manchester to McKinley and Edna Folger McClaflin.
She married Joseph H. Patterson Jan. 1, 1947 in Anthony. He preceded her in death Sept. 17,
1981.
She was a retired seamstress and waitress.
She lived in Augusta 28 years before moving to Cherokee in
1982.
Survivors include a son, Joe of Pittsburg; daughters, Judy A. Perry of Phoenix, Ariz., Brenda J. Garrett of Wichita; brothers, Clifford McClaflin of Ponca City, Okla., Lloyd McClaflin of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Nadine Hutson of Leon, and eight grandchildren.
The Fisher Funeral Home in Cherokee is in charge of arrangements.
