Mary C. Nelson died Monday
Mary C. Nelson, 82, Wichita, mother of Oliver H. Nelson of Douglass, died Monday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Peck Church of Christ. Gordon Rogers and Lloyd Hatfield will officiate and burial will be in the Waco, Kan. cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Church of Christ.
She was born July 13, 1903 in Belle Plaine to Stephen and Mary Sutherland Bishop.
She married John Henry Nelson. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Other survivors include a son, Robert L. of Wichita; daughters, Donna Goff of Wichita, Frances Bergen of El Dorado; brothers, George, Marvin and Harold Bishop, all of Wichita, Everett Bishop of Windsor, Calif.; sisters, Hallie Norris of Wichita, Rose Shipman of Belle Plaine; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Broadway Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Father dies in Arkansas
Ted C. Fretz, 83, Hatfield, Ark., died this morning at the St. Edwards Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark.
This self-employed mechanic was the father of Allen K. Fretz of Augusta.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena, Ark.
Other survivors include a daughter, Betty Evans of Wichita, two granddaughters, Pam
Hendrix of El Dorado and Susan Larcom of Wichita, and a grandson, Kenneth Fretz of Beaumont, Texas, formerly of Augusta.

Clara A. Thissen died Wednesday
Clara A. Thissen, 79, Kingman, mother of Bob Thissen of Augusta, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Fathers Kevin and Donald Thissen and Father Paul Oborny will officate and burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Kingman.
A memorial has been established with St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She was born June 2, 1906 in Aviston, Ill., to Bernard and Anna Gebhart Huelscamp.
She married Cornelius Thissen Oct. 28, 1925 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death.
Other survivors include sons, Norbert of Chillocothe, Mo., Father Kevin of Houston, Texas, Francis of Fort Wayne, Ind., Martin of Lafayette, Colo., Jerome of Dallas, Texas, Father Donald of St. Leo; daughters, Esther Ross of Lander, Wyo., Sister Rita Marie of Ponca City, Okla., Patricia Kampling of Ingalls, Mary Jane Ely of Lewisville, Texas; brothers, Vincent Huelskamp of Garden City, Martin Huelskamp of Fowler, Alvin Huelskamp of Willowdale; 27 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Brother dies
Clarence Wiley Flowers, brother of Esther Lockwood of Augusta, died May 24 at a nursing home in Belton, Mo.
Mrs. Lockwood and the Bob Weinshilboums of Augusta attended the funeral.

Hazel M. Stuber dies at 83
Hazel M. Stuber, 83, Eureka, stepmother of Kenneth Stuber of Augusta, died Thursday at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka. Dr. Gilbert Daniel will officiate and burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
She was born May 31, 1902 in Fall River to Orval and Myrtle Langworthy Slaton.
She married Granville L. Stuber Nov. 4, 1976 in Eureka. He survives.
She was a retired beautician. Other survivors include stepsons, Paul of Wichita, Harold of Eureka; stepdaughter, Amy Rogers of Toronto and sister, Pauline Reich of Eureka.

Dwayne O. Bailey died in Wichita
Dwayne Orline Bailey, 55, Route 3, died Sunday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate.
A memorial has been established with Alzheimers and Similar Diseases, Kansas State Association, P.O. Box 2763, Wichita, Kan, 67201.
He was born Dec. 11, 1930 in Gordon to Louis Arthur and Jessie Gladys Shafer Bailey.
He was a retired Boeing Military Aircraft worker. He served in the military during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post at Douglass and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 834.
Survivors include brothers, Marion and Melvin of Wichita, and a sister, Marjorie Varner of Lyndon.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
