Paul E. Howard died Sunday
Paul E. Howard of Saraland, Ala., formerly of Douglass, died Sunday.
His funeral will be in Saraland Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, Bea; daughters, Jackie and Martha of the home; brother, Lloyd of Douglass; sisters, Pauline House of Kansas City, Edna Maness of Tonganoxie, Mildred Maddox of McAllen, Texas, Catherine Meyer and Jane Carr, both of Douglass, and Ann Tabor of Corvallis, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Fred and Ethel Howard, and a brother, Raymond Howard.
James O. Watson died today at 77
James O. Watson, 77, El Dorado, died this morning at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in the Whitewater, Kan., cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 8, 1908 in Bellsville, Pa., to Joseph and Bertha Watson.
He married Ethel Mae Ricker-son Feb. 8, 1929 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a carpenter and had lived in the El Dorado area since since 1928.
Other survivors include sons, James, Robert, Phillip and Norman, all of Augusta; daughters, Edna Cox, Ann Simon, Jeanie Copeland, all of Augusta, Sharon Simon of Douglass, Karen Pruitt of Independence, Gail Pendlay of Potwin; 31 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Blanche Pennington rites in Douglass
Blanche Edith Pennington, 93, Wichita, formerly of Rock, died Saturday at a Wichita nursing home.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass. Rev. Vernon Corzine officiated and burial was in the Stalter Cemetery in Rock.
She was born Oct. 16, 1892 in Rose Hill to Alexander Armstrong and Elvira Meeker Finney
She married Benjamin Pennington. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the West-side Nazarene Church in Wichita.
Survivors include sons, Irvin “T.I.” Pennington of Mount Hope, Jack “J.D.” Pennington of Wichita; daughters, Candace Thompson of Hatfield, Ark., Winona Welsch of Wichita and Juanita Garfield of Mulvane; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandhcildren.
Sina Chapman died at 79
Sina Chapman, 79, Neodesha, sister of Viola Cline of Augusta, died May 23.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. May 27 in the Loren Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha. Rev. John Page officiated.
Other survivors besides Mrs. Gilbert Cline include another sister, Hazel Moore of Neodesha; brothers, Harold and Raymond Ballard, both of Neodesha.
Two sisters, Maude Hunter and Gladys Bryan, and two brothers, Robert and William Ballard, preceded her in death.
Larry Richardson dies in Texas
Larry Richardson, chief of the U.S. Border Patrol in El Paso, Texas, formerly of Leon, died May 27 after suffering a heart attack.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
He was born in Leon in 1940 to Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Richardson. He was graduated from Leon High School in 1958.
Richardson began work with the Border Patrol at Brownsville, Texas in 1962. He became chief of the El Paso sector in January of
1984.
He served in various border patrol assignments in Texas, California and Washington, D.C.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Jean; sons, Chris of Corpus Christi, Texas, Todd and Sam of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Jack of Del Rio, Texas; his mother, Bea Richardson and a sister, Casey Marlnee, both of Leon.
His father preceded him in death.
