RAY COURTWRIGHT ...funeral Saturday
Ray Courtwright dies in Wichita
Ray Courtwright, 71, 205 E. 12th Street, died today at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church. Rev. George Goudie will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Southern Baptist Church.
He was born Sept. 29, 1914 in Day, Ark., to Phillip A. and Rebecca Hall Courtwright.
He married Mary L. Thurman Feb. 28, 1946 in Tyler, Texas. She survives.
He was a carpenter. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
Other survivors include a son, Philip Thomas Courtwright of Augusta; his father, Phillip Courtwright of Agnos, Ark.; brothers, Earl of Salem, Ark., and Charles of Agnos; grandchildren, Julie Renee, Amy Rae, Erick Wayne, all of Augusta.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth J. Bane died at AMCI
Kenneth Jay Bane, 75, 1303 Money-Lot 13, died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Marvin Adams will officiate. There will be a graveside service at the Greenwood County Cemetery in Eureka at 4 p.m. tomorrow.
He was born July 13, 1910 in Piedmont to Frank and May Jones Bane.
He married Myrtle Marie Jones Feb. 24, 1952 in Eureka Springs, Ark. She survives.
He was a retired White and Ellis Drilling Co., employee. He served in the Army during World War II. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Dorothy Miller of Pasedena, Calif.; brothers, John, Darrell, and Jessie, all of Eureka, and Glen of Rolla, and a sister, Viola Chancellor of Howard.

Sophia Churchill died in Liberal
Sophia Marie Churchill, 78, Liberal, grandmother of Don Elsen of Augusta, died June 20 at a hospital in Liberal.
Her funeral was Tuesday at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Father Robert Schremmer and Father John Kowal officiated and burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Great Bend.
She was born Aug. 24, 1907 in Barton County.
Survivors include two children, Ernest Churchill of Liberal and Tillie Tuxhorn of Weir; six other grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Harold R. Davis rites are tomorrow
Harold R. Davis, 73, Oxford, father of Doris Brown of Douglass, died Wednesday at an Oxford nursing home.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield. Rev. Ed R. Houston will officiate and burial will be in the Littleton Cemetery in Mulvane.
Memorials have been established with the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
He was born Aug. 24, 1912 in Montezuma to Clarence and Etrula Myers Davis.
He married Beulah Ketterman Oct. 5, 1932. She survives.
He was a retired plumber and electrician.
Other survivors include sons, Melvin of Wichita, Delbert of Winfield; daughters, Margaret Snook of Burden, Ruth Dennett of Oxford, Mary Braungardt of Udall; brothers, Elmer, Francis, Myrl, and sisters, Wanda Blackford, Elsie Cooley, all of Golden City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Senter-Smith Mortuary in Mulvane is in charge of arrangements.
