Samuel H. Smith died Friday at 86
Samuel Howard Smith, 86, Route 2, died Friday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral was at 11 a.m. today at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Gilstrap officiated and burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He was born March 17, 1900 in Douglass to Henry S. and Mary Abigail Gibson Smith.
He married Faustina Belle DeWeese Jan. 5, 1921 in El Dorado. She preceded him in death in 1967. He married Ella Hern Sept. 5, 1971 in Wichita. She preceded him in death in 1985.
He was retired from Mobil Oil Co. where he worked as a custodian.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Virgil Howard Smith of Silverdale, Wash.; brother, Roy of Fredonia; two grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Orval Hancock died Saturday
Orval Gilbert Hancock, 80, 1245 Custer Lane, died Saturdfay at the Augusta Medical Complex nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Burl Allison Jr., will officiate.
He was born Oct. 14, 1905 in Garrison, Mo., to Richard and Julia Hicks Hancock.
He married Melba Nance Oct.
20, 1928 in El Dorado. She survives.
He was a retired Kansas Turnpike employee.
Other survivors include sons, Don of Mulvane and Garland of Augusta; daughters, Dorla Virgil of Mount Rose, Colo., Lawanna Smith of Toronto, and Judy Miller of Augusta; brother, Ava, Mo.; sister, Jessie Giles of Drury, Mo.;
20 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Chambers dies in El Dorado
Dorothy Jean Chambers, 59, El Dorado, sister of Betsy Thompson of Augusta, died Sunday at the Knutson Manor Nursing Home there.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at The Cumber baerland Cemetery near Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
She was born April 20, 1927 in Wichita to Ira Bryan and Lula Bolinger Kennedy.
She was a registered nurse.
She attended schools in Augusta.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mary E. Chambers of El Dorado; a brother, Richard Earl Kennedy of Baxley, Ga. another sister, Frances Lawrence of El Dorado; three nieces, and two nephews.
Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Elmer Donegan rites tomorrow
Elmer A. Donegan, 78, Winfield, uncle of Joy Pressnell of Augusta, died Monday at a Winfield hospital.
His funeral wil be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield. There will be a graveside service at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. D.L. Harguess will officiate.
Memorials have been established with the Kansas Society for Crippled Children and with the Salvation Army.
He was born April 28, 1908 in Lowell, Ark., to Arthur and Alice Gobele Donegan.
He moved to Douglass area as a youth. He was a 1929 graduate of Douglass High School.
He married Mary Duggins Jan. 28, 1937 in Bartlesville, Okla. She preceded him in death May 5, 1984.
They lived in Augusta for 29 years. He was retired from Cessna Aircraft in 1974 where he was an inspector for the sheet shop.
The Donegans moved to Winfield in 1977.
Other survivors include a stepson, Phil G. Faucette of Winfield; a brother, Newt of Winfield; a sister, Mary Dorsey of Tucson Ariz., and many nieces and nephews.

George Boucher Sr. dies in El Dorado
George E. Boucher Sr., 71, Fort Smith, Ark., formerly of El Dorado, died yesterday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Presybterian Church in El Dorado. Rev. Hank DeMous will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Ladies Auxiliary at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1915 in Butler County to Charley and Lena Zurbucken Boucher.
He married Vernille Mitchell April 4, 1936 in Guthrie, Okla. She preceded him in death Oct. 30, 1981.
In April 23, 1983 he married Doris White in Fort Smith. She
He was a retired chief engineer at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the El Dorado Masonic Lodge.
Other survivors include a son, George E. Boucher Jr., of El Dorado; daughters, Leana Lewis of Latham and Becky Jordan of Bloomington, Minn.; a stepson, Dennis Lee of El Dorado; stepdaughters, Brenda Cross and Yvonne Hofer, both of Fort Smith; brothers, William of Elbing, Henry of Rose Hill, Virgil of Wichita, Jack of Burden; sisters, Martha Cody of Augusta, Ruby Mahlandt of Douglass, Ethel Rickard of Newton, Pat Leap of Midwest City, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.
