‘Katy’ Williamson died at home last night
Catherine “Katy” Louise Williamson, 55, 1700 Westwood, co-owner of Plaza IGA in Augusta and Ed’s Andover IGA, died at her home last night.
Her funeral will be at Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita at 9 a.m. Friday. Rev. Bob Laurent
will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwich Cemetery near
Wichita.
A memorial has been established with St Francis Regional Medical Center’s Oncology Department.
She was born June 3, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Hugh and Leah Nolder Sanders.
She married Ed Williamson Dec. 2, 1952. He survives.
Mrs. Williamson was also a registered nurse.
Other survivors include sons, Stan and Larry, both of Augusta, daughters, Tonie Voegeli and Darla Voegeli, both of Augusta; sons-in-law, Phil Voegeli and Tim Voegeli; daughters-in-law, Becky Williamson, Kathy Williamson, all of Augusta; sisters, Virginia Redlin of Los Angeles, Calif., Barbara Hurd of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Dale Sanders of San Jose., and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Leah Sanders, and a twin sister, Carolyn McKinney.

Opal E. Harris died Tuesday
Opal Esther Harris, 68, Udall, sister of Norma Kunkle of Douglass, died Tuesday at her home.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Congregational Church in Udall. Rev. Ray Steakley will officiate and burial will be in the Udall Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Udall Congregational Church and the American Cancer Society.
She was born Feb. 20, 1918 in Douglass to Jesse and Naomi Holt Lanier.
She married Erwin Harris June 21, 1939. He survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Barbara Doyle, Beverly Wheeler and Julie Burley, all of Udall; a son, Russell of Kaneohe, Hawaii; a brother, Ervin Lanier of Arlington Heights, Ill.; stepmother, Iva Lanier of Derby; stepsisters, Ester Walley of Tyler, Texas and Lola Hundley of Wichita; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of arrangements.
