Leonard Dowler died Saturday
Leonard O. Dowler, 85, Wichita, father of Cora Rose of Augusta, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Oxford, Kan., cemetery. Rev. Ivan G. Mattern will officiate.
He was born Jan. 28, 1901 at Dexter to W.W. and Addie Chambers Dowler.
He married Opal J. Cantrell Oct. 23, 1924 in Wichita. She survives.
He was a retired carpenter.
Other survivors include a son, Charles R. of Wichita; brothers, Russell, Roy C., both of Arkansas City, Lloyd of Winfield, Fred of Bentonville, Ark.; sisters, Gladys Wise of California, Mable Newman of Yates Center; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Cochran Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.

Barry Tolbert funeral today
Funeral services for Barry E. Tolbert, 24, El Dorado, were at 11 a.m. today at Bluestem High School in Leon. Rev. Tony Venturella officated. Burial was in the Leon Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Tolbert died in a traffic accident near Potwin Thursday.
He was born April 21, 1962, in Winfield to Michael S. and Shirley Morris Tolbert.
Tolbert lived in El Dorado since January where he worked for Union Tank Car Company. He had lived in Leon 15 years before moving to El Dorado.
Survivors include his father, Mike of Wichita; his mother, Shirley Tolbert of Leon; one brother, Jeff of Leon; one sister, Tina Tolbert of El Dorado; grandparents, Clifford and Leoma Morris of Augusta, Tom and Justine Cline of Atlanta; great-grandmother, Roma Morris, Valley Springs, Ark. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa.

Alvin McQuilliams funeral to be here
Alvin McQuilliams, 61, Wichita, died Sunday, Aug. 10, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery here.
McQuilliams, a machine shop parts inspector for Boeing Aircraft, was born Oct. 7, 1924 in Lexington, Okla., as a son of Willie Ethel Durham and the late Arthur Sylvester McQuilliams.
He and the former Leota Mae Montgomery were married Oct. 26, 1985. She survives.
McQuilliams was a member of the Alexander Garrett Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7253 at Derby. He served in the navy and air force.
Other survivors include his mother, sons, Alvin and Allen of Miniola, Texas, Jeffrey and Jimmy of Vernon, Texas; two stepsons, Vernon L. Montgomery of Douglass and David A. Montgomery of Wichita; daughters, Leila Lesniak of Chambersburg, Pa., and Sharon Housley of Frederick, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Rhonda McKinney of Derby; brothers, Carl of Grand Prairie, Texas, Lonnie of Frederick, Okla., Vernon of Derby, H.R. of Arlington, Texas, Olan of Wichita; sisters, Wanda Wilson of Mulvane, Wanetta Holland of Meridan, Miss., Emma Lewis of Deming, N.M., and Alma Sise of Bronson, Fla., nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth McQuilliams.
