Clarence B. Scott died in Oklahoma
Clarence B. Scott, 79, Ponca City, Okla., formerly of Douglass, died Sunday at his Ponca City home.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Douglass Cemetery. Rev. Sam Whiteside will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.
He was born May 14, 1907 in Coyville to George W. and Nora Maude Frost Scott.
He married Wylmeth Lackey April 29, 1929 in Wichita. She survives.
He was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include a son, Clayton of Oxford; daughter, Arleta Biggerstaff of Ponca City; brother, Hoyt of Winfield; sisters, Bell Bell of Augusta and Bessie Ferguson of Wichita; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Thursday, August 14, 1986 Margaret Beechner died yesterday
Margaret Juanita Beechner, 76, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died yesterday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. James P. Bailey of the Church of Christ in Sherman, Texas, will officiate. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Moline, Kan., cemetery. -
She was born Aug. 7, 1910 in Howard to Daniel Berton and Minnie Robertson McClintock.
She married Henry P. Beechner Jr. Dec. 27, 1927 in Newkirk, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Beechner was a retired Wesley Medical Center employee.
Survivors include a son, Henry B. of Norfolk, Va.; daughters, Mary M. Boring and Elizabeth A. Sinsel, both of Wichita; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

W.R. Gray dies at 86
W.R. Gray, 86, Towanda, brother of Lloyd Gray, died Tuesday at a Kansas City, Mo., hospital.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Harold Posey will officiate and entombment will follow in Belle Vista Mausoleum in El Dorado.
A memorial has been established with Methodist Youthville in Newton.
He was born April 28, 1900 near Rosalia to C.O. and Betty Larson Gray.
He married Susie Greenwell Feb. 1, 1919. She survives.
He was a retired rural mail carrier.
Other survivors include a son, Dr. Orville Gray of El Dorado; a daughter, Gertie Hartman of Prairie Village; sisters, Elsie Van Wey of El Dorado, Laura Willhite of Rosalia; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Cecil Nelson died yesterday
Cecil I. Nelson, 64, Wichita, formerly of Augusta, died yesterday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Maynard Peterson will officiate and burial will be in the Wichita Park Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Disabled American Veterans and the Shriners' Crippled Children’s Hospital in care of the Midian Shrine Temple, 130 N. Topeka, Wichita,
Kas., 67202.
He was born Aug. 9, 1922 in Hutchinson to Ray A. and Wilma Rae Peters Nelson.
He married Ellen K. Wiley Feb. 5, 1944. She survives.
He was a retired manufacturing engineer at Cessna Aircraft Co. in Wichita. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory in Wichita.
Other survivors include a son,
Larry W. of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Debra K. Tasker of Wichita; father, Ray A. Nelson of Wichita; brother, Vaughn Eldon Nelson of Urich, Mo.; sisters, Marjorie McCormick of California and Jo Ann Conner of Wichita and three grandchildren.

Cattleman died Sunday
Brown King, 77, Douglass, died Sunday at his home.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Mission Chapel Mausoleum. Rev. Harold Kieler will officiate.
He was born June 17, 1909 in Kansas to Henry J. and Edith Brown King.
He married Betty Holcomb. She survives.
King, a retired cattleman, was a member of the Leon Joppa Lodge 223 AF&AM, the Wichita Consistory, the Midian Shrine, and the Butler County Shrine Club. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church here.
Other survivors include sons, Ted D. of Towanda, Tom G. of
Highland Ranch, Colo.; brothers, Wayne of Mulvane, Max of Wichita; sisters, Carol Prewitt of Wichita, Mildred King of San Mateo, Calif., and five grandchildren.
Quiring Old Mission Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
