Ronn B. Gann rites are Thurday
Ronn B. Gann, 39, El Dorado, died Sunday from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident near Grove, Okla.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Wayne Sharp will officiate and burial will be in Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado.
He was born Jan. 14, 1947 in El Dorado to Arley and Marie Ball Gann.
He married Sheila Smith Sept.
1, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
He was a self-employed contractor.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam conflict.
Other survivors include a sister, Jan Link, and brother-in-law, Chuck Link of El Dorado; grandmother, Callie Gann of El Dorado and two newphews.

Lillian F. Bowman died at 91 Tuesday
Lillian F. Bowman, 91, Augusta, died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Trinity Episcopal Church in El Dorado. Father Len Evans will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 13, 1895 in Chicago, Ill., to Thomas W. and Esther N. Ettenson Mathieu.
She married Robert Houser. He preceded her in death. She married Oren Bowman who also preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Episcopal church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for more than 50 years.
There were no survivors.

Augustan’s mother dies in Canada
Mrs. John Grieve, mother of Augustan Scott Grieve, died early today at a nursing home in Toronto, Canada. She was 95.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
In addition to Mr. Grieve of Augusta, she leaves two daughters and two other sons, all of Canada.

Viola Marie Ray died in Wichita
Viola Marie Ray, 72, Route 2, died yesterday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Towanda Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 6, 1913 in Whitewater to William Henry and Alice Corfman Schupp.
She married Lloyd V. Ray Dec. 24,1937 in El Dorado. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Boyd Ray of Augusta; daughters Llola Matthews, Elmer Webster, Alice Stewart, all of Bartlesville, Okla.; sister, Vivian Ray of El Dorado, and eight grandchildren.
Former Douglass educator died
Catherine Coover, 80, Wichita, died Tuesday.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the College Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established with College Hill United Methodist Church.
She was born Nov. 7, 1905 in Whitewater and married Carl Coover in 1929.
Mrs. Coover taught for 35 years at the elementary school level. She began her teaching in Douglass in 1936 where she taught fourth, fifth and sixth grade students. _____—

Meta Evans, 75, a retired teacher formerly of Augusta, died last night at the Catholic Center of the Aging in Wichita.
Her funeral arrangements were pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta today.

Meta Margaret Evans, 75, 1706 Sunset Drive, died Wednesday at the Catholic Center for the Aging in Wichita.
The rosary will be at 7 o’clock tonight at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at the St. James Catholic Church. Father Thomas Stroot will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born March 11, 1911 in Norton to Samuel and Sarah Ellen McKinley Carney.
She married Roy Thomas Evans April 15, 1939 in Omaha, Neb. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Evans was a retired Augusta school teacher.
Survivors include daughters,
Pat Strasser of Three Mile Bay, N.Y., Joan Carney of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Katherine Leckstorm of Olympia, Wash.; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Pattie Peace, 52, Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Augusta, died last night.
Her funeral arrangments are pending.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Peace, 755 S. Alton, Apt. 10D, Denver, Colo., 80231.
Other survivors include an aunt, Jeanette Carr of Augusta.
