B. L. 'Roy' Clark died in Wichita
Belva L. “Roy” Clark, 74, 212 Columbia, father of Larry Clark of Augusta, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka, Rev. Greg Sorensen officiated and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka.
He was born Aug. 8, 1912 in Drumright, Okla., to William and
Mary Matlock Clark.
Mr. Clark was an oil field roustabout and had lived in Greenwood County most of his life until he moved to Augusta two years ago. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2712 in Eureka.
Other survivors include sons, Cecil of Huntington Beach, Calif., Robert of Americas, Jerry of Eureka, Jim of Newton, Paul of Reece; a daughter, Linda Galbreath of Muskegon, Mich.; James of Emmetsburg, Iowa., Ed and Rocky, both of Eureka; sisters, Joan Bradburry of Eureka and Corrine Anderson of Denver, Colo., and 16 grandchildren.

J. C. Rodden dies at his home
John C. Rodden, 67, Route 4, died at his home yesterday.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established with the Salvation Army.
He was born Sept. 8, 1919 to Edward and Nannie Stokes Rodden.
He married Lois Evelyn Otte July 16, 1955 in Augusta. She survives.
Mr. Rodden was a retired Mobil Oil Refinery worker. He was a pumper. He served in the military during World War II and was a member of B.P.O.E. 1462, the El Dorado Moose Lodge and the VFW.
Other survivors include sons, John II of Augusta and William of Loveland, Colo.; brother, Earl of Pueblo, Colo., and sisters, Nora E. Wilson and Ethel Kennedy, both of Augusta.

H.H. ‘Jack’ Kyer died Monday
Harold H. “Jack” Kyer, 61, Wichita, stepfather of Charles Winkleman of Augusta, died Monday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Cochran Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Maynard Peterson and Rev. Don Kyer will officiate and burial will be in the Kechi Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
He was born Nov. 12, 1924 in Glenville, W.Va., to Charles and Ora Gay Hewitt Kyer.
He married Norma Shaffer. She survives.
Mr. Kyer was a Pioneer Materials Co. truck driver.
Other survivors include daughter, Darlene Allison of Parkersburg, W.Va.; other stepsons, Carl Winkleman of Abilene, Texas, Joe Winkleman of Harveyville; stepdaughters, Coleen Winkleman, Cheryl Burnett, Connie Comacho, Carol Barker, all of Wichita; brothers, Charles of Cambridge, Ohio, Bob of Mississippi, Don and Arnold Jake, both of Fredericksburg, Va.; sisters, Mamie Bliss Lynn of Belpre, Ohio, Virginia Williams of Vienna, W. Va., and 12 grandchildren.,

Augustan’s brother dies at 79
Glen A. Groom, 79, Wilmot, brother of Robert Groom of Augusta, died yesteday at his home.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield. Burial will be in the Wilmot, Kan., cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
He was born Aug. 15, 1907 on a farm northwest of Wilmot to Arthur L. and Mabel Swain Groom.
He married Jennetta Hoefgen March 20, 1929 in Winfield. She survives.
He was a self employed cattle trucker and a farmer.
Survivors also include include a son, Donald Groom of Winfield; daughters, Darlene Jordan and Lois Collier of
Winfield; other brothers, G.S. “Bus” of Winfield and Harry of Cambridge; a sister, Nola Nedert of Wichita; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Carrie Elgin died at AMCI
Carrie Marie Elgin, 78, Route 3, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral is pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
She was born June 8, 1908 in South Dakota to Alvin and Mary Louise Johnstone.
She married Essley Elgin Aug.
10, 1926 in El Dorado. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, John of Augusta; a daughter, Pearl Dexter of Augusta; a half sister, Louise Nance of Menadoah, Ill., and three grandchildren.

Rites Saturday for Carrie Elgin
Carrie Elgin, 78, Route 3, died Wednesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Jon Grissom will officiate.
