Sister died Sunday in Ohio
Opal Fox, Jewett, Ohio, sister of Eldon Banker of Augusta, died Sunday in an Alliance, Ohio hospital.
A memorial service is pending in Jewett.
Other survivors include her husband, Louis Fox; a daughter, Patsy; sisters, Velma Molz of Syacuse and Mary Read of Indialantic, Fla.

Gertrude Harp died yesterday
Gertrude M. Harp, 77, 1515 Club House, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven.
She was born May 22, 1909 to August H. and Eva M. Holdeman Johnson in Newton.
Survivors include a brother, Harvey Johnson; sisters, Esther Adams, Elsie Marshall, all of Blackwell, Okla., and nephews, Harold and Marvin Miller of Augusta.

Clifford L. Cox died in Wichita
Clifford Lee Cox, 72, 1206 Osage, died yesterday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Douglass Cemetery.
He was born June 12, 1914 in Four Corners, Ark., to Burl Lee and Lytha C. Cox Cox.
He was a carpenter and served in the military during World War II.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Barker of Orlando, Fla., and Christine Marie Cassidy of Augusta; brothers, Carl Cox of El Dorado, Cecil C. Cox of Augusta; sisters, Mabel Tucker of Winfield and Mary McNickels of Augusta, and three grandchildren.
A brother, Cleo, preceded him in death.

Marta S. Lewis rites tomorrow
Marta Sue Lewis, 37, Leon, died yesterday at her home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The rosary will be at 7 o’clock tonight at the Carlson Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. James Catholic Church in Augusta. Father Thomas Stroot will officiate and burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 16, 1949 in Wall, S.D., to Michael and Martha Schroeder Connelly.
She married Ron Lewis Aug.
24, 1968 in Sturgis, S.D. He survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in El Dorado.
Survivors also include sons, Brian and Brett, both of the home; mother, Martha Connelly of Sturgis; brothers, Marlin Connelly of Rapid City, S.D., and Michael Connelly of Sturgis, sisters, Mary Lin Duprel of Sturgis and DeeAnn Keffeler of Derby.

Ruth E. Spires died yesterday
Ruth Evelyn Spires, 81, Route 2, died yesterday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood.
She was born March 27, 1905 in Topeka to Thather and Gertrude Watson Fleming.
She married Raymond Charles Spires Sr. on Oct. 24, 1923 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Survivors include sons, Raymond Jr. of Augusta, Charles and Leon, both of El Dorado; daughters, Patricia Shields of Douglass and Delores Nichols of Wichita; brothers, Raymond Fleming, Charles Fleming and Clifford Fleming, all of Wichita; sisters, Menta Walters of Branson, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A grandchild and a great-grandchildren also preceded her in death.

Myrtle Ashcraft dies in Wichita
Myrtle Ashcraft, 80, Wellington, mother of James Ashcraft of Augusta, died Saturday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Hawks Funeral Home in Wellington. Jack Allen will officiate and burial will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.
Memorials have been established with the American Diabetes Association and the First Christian Church in Wellington.
She was born April 19, 1906 in Mannsville, Okla., to James O. and Minnie Lee Logsdon.
She married Roy Ashcraft Oct. 11, 1924 in Winfield. He preceded her in death in 1950.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Wellington.
Survivors also include another son, Paul of Wichita; daughters, Virginia Snodgrass of Wichita, Wauneta Townsend and Vedia Roads, both of Wellington; 21 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Opal J. Gould died at AMCI
Opal J. Gould, 82, 2101 Dearborn, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Axmann will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church in Augusta.
She was born June 18, 1904 in Booneville, Ark., to James and Myrtle Carlin Bryant.
She married Walter Earl "Pat" Gould in June of 1935 in Fayetteville, Ark. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Round Table and the Merri-belles EHU.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Ralston of Augusta, Martha England of Carrolton, Texas; brother, James Bryant of Kemp, Texas; sisters, Elizabeth Walker of Booneville, Ark., Norma Shryock and Willene Cauthron, both of Augusta; four grandchildren, Bryant and Patrick Ralston and Becky and Andy England.
