Sister dies
Lyda Hunt of Elk City, Okla., sister of Augustan Frank Watson, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Elk City.
Her funeral will be 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16, in Cherokee, Okla.

Brother dies
Wayne Glaze, Reseda, Calif., brother of Howard Glaze of rual Augusta, died Nov. 3.
Other survivors include stepsons, Mike Smith of Indianapolis, Ind., and Lee Smith of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters, Margaret Taylor of Russellville, Ark., and Elizabeth Weatherhold of Tulsa, Okla., and another brother, Lyman Glaze Jr. of Whittier, Calif.

Getha Poindexter died yesterday
Getha Margaret Poindexter, 85, 1145 Ohio, died yesterday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the First Christian Church. Rev. Jon Grissom will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church.
She was born Dec. 31, 1900 in Kansas to Jacob and Mary Emma Reeder Davis.
She married William Joseph Poindexter April 7, 1921 in Harrison, Ark. He preceded her in death in 1974.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a brother, Frank Davis of Augusta; a sister, Marjorie Gooch of Newton; grandchildren, Carolyn Henry of Houston, Texas and Marilyn Wiley of Fort Worth, Texas, and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Gilbert, preceded her in death.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Infant is stillborn
The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Williams of 1119 School was stillborn yesterday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Lee Hinds will officiate.
Besides her parents, Melvin Dean and Cindy LuAnn Walker Williams, she leaves brothers, Kelly and Matthew and a sister, Angela, all of the home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James V. Hickman of Kingsport, Tenn., and a great-grandmother, Catherine Williams of Phillipsburg.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Metsker died today at 69
George E. Metsker, 69, rural Augusta, died this morning at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Services are pending at the Dunsford Funeral Home.

‘Swede’ Elgin died in Wichita
Essley “Swede” Elgin, 83, Route 3, died Sunday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Jon Grissom will officiate.
He was born Sept. 7, 1903 in Rushville, Ill., to John and Lillian Beaty Elgin.
He married Carrie Marie Johnstone Aug. 10, 1926 in El Dorado. She preceded him in death Oct. 22.
He was a retired insulator for Mobil Oil Refinery in Augusta.
Survivors include a son, John of Augusta; a daughter, Pearl Dexter of Augusta; stepbrother, Roy Brown of Council Grove; stepsister, Fern Oakes, address unknown; three grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bertha James died Thursday
Bertha James, 99, Andover, sister of Clara Criser of Augusta, died Thursday at a nursing home in Iola.
Her funeral was at 11 a.m. today at the Andover Methodist Church. Rev. Don Swender officiated and burial was in the Andover Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Andover Methodist Church or the Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola.
She was born April 20, 1887 in Breckenridge, Ill., to John and Anna Boge Mulch.
She married Allen R. James July 14, 1912 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Other survivors include sons, Loren of Mesa, Ariz., Lowell of Iola; daughters, Myrna Dill of Wichita, Viola Moser of Iola; brother, Albert Mulch of Wichita; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Waugh-Yokum Funeral Home in Iola was in charge of arrangements.
