Charles V. Lee funeral Saturday
Charles V. Lee, 85, rural Milan, father of Mrs. Clee (Sara) Ralston of rural Augusta, died Wednesday at a nursing home in Conway Springs.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ebersole Mortuary in Conway Springs. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rose Hill, Kan., cemetery.
He was born March 3, 1901 in Amoita, Okla., to James Henry and Sarah Lucy Wilson Lee.
He married Beulah Covey June 9, 1920 in Anthony. She survives.
Mr. Lee was a retired farmer and former Rose Hill resident.
Other survivors include a son,
Robert E. of Hutchinson; a sister, Georgia Montague of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Jr.

Hazel L. Koob died Wednesday
Hazel L. Koob, 84, Andover, mother of Wanda Lawhon of Augusta, died Wednesday at the Catholic Care Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Andover. Monsignor H.N. Hertel will officiate and burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the church.
She was born July 12, 1902 in Minnesota to John and Emma Smith Dupuis.
She married Anthony Koob. He preceded her in death.
She was a registered nurse.
Other survivors include a son, Rex of Wichita; daughter, Juanita Duckworth of Wichita; brother, Leon Donnell of Deer River, Minn.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Downing & Lahey Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangement.

R.E. Kirkpatrick dies at 56
Robert E. “Bob” Kirkpatrick, 56, Route 2, died Saturday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Bob Bence and Sam Hartzler will officiate and burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
He was born April 30, 1930 in rural Leon to Lloyd and Merna Finley Kirkpatrick.
He married Dorothy Hime in Augusta Sept. 29, 1950. She survives.
Mr. Kirkpatrick worked for more than 30 years as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired Nov. 1, 1985. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, past president of the Rural Carriers Association and Past Grand of the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge in Leon. He also served in the Navy.
Other survivors include a son, Randall E. Kirkpatrick of Augusta; a daughter, Debra Epperson of Augusta; mother, Merna Kirkpatrick of El Dorado; brothers, Raymond Kirkpatrick of El Dorado, Don Kirkpatrick of Augusta, and E. Eugene Kirkpatrick of Augusta; a sister, Vera Tong of Leon; grandsons, Michael and Davin Epperson, Joshua and Adam Kirkpatrick.
His father and a daughter
preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established with Cancer Research. Contributions may be left at the Dunsford Funeral Home.
Clinton Smith died in Nebraska
Clinton Smith, 79, Sidney, Neb., formerly of Augusta, died Saturday at his home.
His funeral was in Sidney today.
He was a former Cook and Oil Field Supply salesman.
Survivors include a nephew, Bill E. Smith, and a niece, Florence Thornton, both of Augusta.
