Monday, November 24, 1986
Marvin Miller died Saturday
Marvin E. Miller, 71, Route 2, died Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Richard Axmann will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 12, 1915 in Cedarvale to Elisha C. and Mary Harp Miller.
He married EllaBell Taylor Oct. 24, 1942 in Augusta. She survives.
Mr. Miller lived in the Augusta area most of his life. He worked at Mobil Refinery for 37 years. He retired as an instrument technician in 1977.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers.
He was active in the Mid-Kansas Community Action Program (MEDKAP). He served in the Army during World War II.
Other survivors include his sons, Rex D. Miller of Mulvane and Mark E. Miller of Augusta; brothers, Virgil Miller of El Dorado and Harold Miller of Augusta; sisters, Viola Stephenson of Hutchinson, Freeda Piatt of Grove, Okla., and Marjorie Hampton of Wichita, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be left at the Dunsford Funeral Home.

Kenneth Alexander died at 45 Sunday
Kenneth D. Alexander Sr., 45, Haysville, brother of Ron J. Alexander of Douglass, died Sunday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home in Wichita. Rev. Philip Wood will officiate and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Oatville.
He was born April 20, 1941 in Wichita to Kenneth L. and Norine Chambers Alexander.
He married Virginia Avila. She survives.
He was the owner of Alexander Construction Co. in Haysville and a production planner at Boeing Military Aircraft Co. in Wichita.
Other survivors include a son, Kenneth D. J. of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Julie Alexander of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Elizabeth Jones of Lubbock, Texas; mother, Norine Alexander of Wichita and another brother, David L. of Haysville.

Elsa Chapman died in Wichita
Elsa “Mickey” Chapman, 62, Wichita, sister of Pauline Ward of Douglass, died Monday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lakeview Funeral Home chapel. Father John Flores will officiate and burial will be in the Lakeview Gardens and Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.
She was born July 12, 1924 in Oklahoma to William H.A. and Zelda Roberts Seeger
She married Stafford B. Chapman. He survives.
Mrs. Chapman was a retired self-employed seamstress.
Other survivors include daughters, Debra Lang of Wichita; brother, John D. Seeger of Mulvane; another sister, Alfreda Achenbach of Wichita, and two grandchildren.

Minnie Landon dies at 96
Minnie Landon, 96, Rose Hill, mother of Ruby Widener of Augusta, died Tuesday at the Heritage Village Nursing Home in Rose Hill.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born May 29, 1890 in Dunlap, Ill., to Felix and Marie Flick Christen.
She married Charles L. Landon Aug. 18, 1921 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1959.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Other survivors include daughters, Gladys Williams of Clinton, Mo., Virginia Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., Margie Larson of San Antonio, Texas; 16 grand-children and 11 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Felix, William and Edwin, and a great-grandchild, preceded her in death.

Betty McMahon dies at 58
Betty Louise Dusenbery McMahon, 58, Wichita, half sister of Barbara Engleberg of Augusta, died Tuesday.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita.
Survivors also include a son, James Alan Anderson of Spring-field, Mo.; daughters, Jody Hernedez of Arkansas City, Sherry Heath of Cassville, Mo., Debra Tucker Calaveras of Vallejo, Calif., Kristi Dusenbery, Tammy Robbins, Jackie Sturlaugson, Brenda Wilson, all of Wichita; brother, Marvin McMahon of Texas; sisters, Dorothy Mazur, Beverly Rea, Joyce Delgarcia, all of Wichita; half brothers, Clifford Demingville of Wichita, Hiram Demingville of California; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
