Former Leon Resident Dies
Donald R. Lamb, 48, Kansas City, formerly of Leon, died Saturday at the University of Kansas Medical Center at Kansas City.
His service was at 11 a.m. today at the Overland Park Christian Church. Burial was in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Kansas City.
He was bom April 3, 1934 in Leon to Ray and Mary Lamb.
He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1957 with a bachelors degree. In 1963 he earned a masters degree there.
He was a former school principal before becoming director of special education for the Wyandotte County Comprehensive Special Education Cooperative.
He served on the board of directors for the Kansas City branch of the YMCA. He was advisor and trainer for the American Acacemy of Pediatrics and past chairman of the Kansas Special Education Advisory Committee. He was past secretary of the National Council of Administrators of Special Education and a member of the Kansas Council for Exceptional Children and Kansas Association for Retarded Citizens.
Among the survivors are his wife, Betty Lamb, and a daughter, Jennifer Sue Lamb, both of the home; a son, Donald Mark Lamb, Kansas City, Mo.,; his mother, Mary Lamb of Whitewater; four brothers, Lawrence Lamb, South Fork, Colo., John Lamb, Nickerson, Robert Lamb, Whitewater and Lee Lamb of Colorado Springs, Colo., and a sister, Mary Helen Kiser, Overland Park.

Ex-Augustan Dies At 62
Betty K. Moffitt, 62, Clarksville, Tenn., formerly of rural Augusta and Douglass, died May 2 in Clarksville.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m Friday at the Douglass Cemetery.
She was bom May 1, 1920 in Douglass to Roy and Edna Ingold Suits.
She lived in Douglass and Augusta areas for many years before moving to Arkansas City where she worked at the Newmans Dry Goods Store.
Survivors include two sons, David Moffitt of Kansas City and Richard Moffitt of Clarksville; three brothers, Robert Suits of Port Angeles, Wash., Boyd Suits of Shreveport, La., and Bill Suits of Shawnee Mission; two sisters, Barbara Martin of Apple Valley, Minn., Bonnie Lesemann of Newkirk, Okla., and a grandchild.
Rindt-Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Home in Arksansas City is in charge of arrangements.

Florence Kennedy Dies In Wichita
Florence Kennedy, 91, Gordon, died yesterday at St. Frances Hospital in Wichita.
Her service is at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. Bob Meanor will officiate and burial will be in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 14, 1890 in Randell.
She married Clarence Kennedy Dec. 25, 1914 in Ames, Okla. He survives.

Saturday Rites For Bedigrew
Cecil Eugene Bedigrew, 69 Alamogordo, N.M., father of Cecil Bedigrew Jr., and Cecilia Huddleston, both of Augusta, died there May 5.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Elmwood Cemetery. Phil McCormick will officiate.
He was bom Aug. 27. 1912 in Lisco, Neb., to Frank and Flossie Barrett Bedigrew.
He married Gladys Laramore Aug. 2, 1942 in Pratt. She survives.
