Torkelson service Monday at Methodist church here
Phyllis Jo Torkelson, 54, Claremore, Okla., formerly of Augusta, died yesterday in Ontario, Calif.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Augusta. Rev. Paul Gilbert will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the church.
She was born Dec. 31, 1932 in Topeka to Orville L. and Margaret Rachael Arnold Gibson.
She married Delbert William Torkelson Aug. 28, 1949 in Horton. He survives.
Mrs. Torkelson lived in Augusta for 27 years. She was a Red Cross volunteer and a licensed practical nurse at the Augusta Medical Complex. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include sons, David R. of Gahanna, Ohio, Raymond D. and Mark A., both of Augusta, Phillip L. of Clare-more, Okla.; daughters, Janna L.
Glasgow, Nancy L. Lewis, Margaret M. Arnold, all of Augusta; brother, Robert Gibson of Texas; sisters, Kathryn Brown and Shirley Brown, both of Topeka, Jean Worrell of Freeport, Ill., and Margaret Nicely of Augusta, and seven grandchildren.

Helen Shaffer died in Wichita
Helen Shaffer, 83, 1515 Clubhouse Drive, died Saturday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City.
A memorial has been established with the Association for the Blind.
She was born July 27, 1903 in Williamsburg to Lawrence and Cora Crawford Howe.
She married Lee Shaffer Aug. 31, 1929 in Grenola. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Lee Winkleman Kyer of Wichita; a sister, Nellie Bradley of El Paso, Texas; a brother, E.L. Howe of Coffeyville; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Lillian Anderson died in Wichita
Lillian Mary Anderson, 93, El Dorado, mother of Dr. Dale Anderson of Augusta, died Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. Rev. William Hastings will officiate and burial will be in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in El Dorado.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Medical Complex.
She was born Oct. 30. 1893 in Miller, S.D., to Harry Clair and Carrie Anderson Spain.
She married William Thomas Anderson Dec. 3, 1919 in Chicago, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Anderson had lived in El Dorado since 1919. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Moose Lodge and the Golden Age Club, all in El Dorado.,
Other survivors include 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Frank Harrill dies at AMCI
Frank S. Harrill, 90, Augusta, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Burl Allison will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 5, 1896 in Oklahoma to Samuel and Elmina Morgan Harrill.
He married Minnie Lee Blaylock June 16, 1917 in Holdenville, Okla. She preceded him in death in 1970.
Mr. Harrill was a yard superintendent for Mobil Refinery in Augusta. He had lived 70 years in Augusta. He was a member of the Methodist church, the Mystic Tie Lodge 74 in Augusta, the Scottish Rite and the Midian Shrine of Wichita.
He made windbells, miniature furniture and cut light bulbs into rose bowls.
Survivors include daughters, Robert Limes of Wichita and Juanita Palmer of Ingram, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons; two nephews and a niece.
A grandson also preceded him in death.

Fredrick Bauer died today at 82
Fredrick J.L. Bauer, 82, Mercedes, Texas, father of Edith Malcom of Augusta, died today at the Augusta Medical Complex.
There will be no service.
He was born Dec. 8, 1904 in Beaver, Okla.
He was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include a son, Donald Lee Bauer of Wichita; a daughter, Leona Fenney of Dover, Tenn.; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Mabel May Harrelson and Ruby Jewel Malcom, preceded him in death.
