Waldon Reid died Tuesday
Waldon Reid, 73. Denver, Colo, formerly of Augusta, died Tuesday in Denver of a heart attack.
Reid and his wife, Clem, spent the Thanksgiving holidays in the home of George and Jeanette Carr of Augusta.
Mr. Reid was born in Augusta to Price and Jennie Reid. He graduated from Augusta High School and lived here before moving to Denver, Colo.
He ran a bakery truck before he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Clem, of the home; a son and two daughters.
Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Jeanette Carr and a niece, Nola Reece, all of Augusta.

Lena Haase died yesterday
Lena Haase, 90, 2101 Dearborn, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Benton Cemetery. Rev. Chuck McCray will officiate.
She was born Jan. 10, 1896 in Benton to Frederick and Estina Haase.
She was a retired secretary for General Motors Co.
Other survivors include a nephew, Gerald Haase of Benton.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado is in charge of arrangements.

Phyliss Adamson died in Wichita
Phyliss C. Adamson, 49, Wichita, sister of Helen Nelson of Douglass, died Thursday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
The rosary will be at 7 o’clock tonight at the Cochran Mortuary. Rev. Thomas Scaletty will officiate. The funeral will be at noon tomorrow at St. Jude Catholic Church in Wichita.
A memorial has beene stablished with St. Francis Regional Medical Center oncology department.
She was born March 2, 1937 in Wichita to Benjamin and Margaret Gehrer Schultz.
She was a Coleman Co. employee.
Other survivors include a son, James, daughters, Sheila Kryston, Camillila Swart, Melvina, father and step mother, Benjamin and Cora Schultz, mother and stepfather, Charles and Margaret Rust, brother, Benjamin Schultz Jr., all of Wichita; sisters, Jo Brummett of Kansas City, Kan., Carol Brown of Bremerton, Wash., Linda Johnson of Sedgwick; half brother, Bill Rust of Fall River; half sister, Debra Goebel of Wichita, and seven grandchildren.

Laura P. Stevens died in El Dorado
Laura P. Stevens, 87, Leon, died Friday at Knutson Manor Nursing Home in El Dorado.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at the Leon, Kan., cemetery. Rev. Chester Bodenhamer officiated.
She was born May 3, 1899 in Fremont, Neb.
She married Chester Ernest Stevens May 17, 1918 in Fremont. He preceded her in death in 1960.
Mrs. Stevens moved to the Leon area in 1974 from Arkansas.
Survivors include sons, Rex R. Stevens of Leon and Earl Dean Stevens of Kerney, Neb.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sylvia Brown died at home
Sylvia Brown, 75, Elsberry, Mo., sister of Clyde Swafford of Augusta, died yesterday at her home in Elsberry.
Her funeral will be at at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home in Elsberry. Burial will be in the cemetery in Elsberry.
She was born Jan. 13, 1911.
Other survivors include 14 children.

Maybelle Seitnater died in Hutchinson
Maybelle Seitnater, 67, Pretty Prairie, daughter of Eletha Meairs of Douglass and sister of Eleanor Beshirs of Augusta, died Saturday at a Hutchinson hospital.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Johnson & Sons Funeral Home in Hutchinson. Rev. Harold Knight officiated.
She was born Dec. 7, 1919 in Shawnee, Okla., to Vernon and Eletha Locke Meairs.
Mrs. Seitnater worked at the Safeway Meat Processing Plant in Wichita before her retirement.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hutchinson.
Other survivors include a son, Steve of Wichita; daughter, Shirley Seitnater of Kinsley; brother,
Al Locke of Emporia; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

J.C. ‘Jack’ Garvey died at 71 today
James C. “Jack” Garvey, 71, Wichita, brother in law of Bob Little of Augusta, died today at his home.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Old Mission Mortuary Chapel in Wichita. Rev. Jim Little will officiate and burial will be in the Wichita Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Life Watch Air Ambulance, in care of Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born Dec. 28, 1915 in Seymour, Ind., to Walter W. and Fannie Irene Estep Garvey.
He married Gertrude Little July 20, 1944 in Wichita. She survives.
Mr. Little was a retired aircraft engineer and had worked at Boeing Military Aircraft and at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita.
He was a Methodist and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 138.
Other survivors include a son, James Richard of Emporia; daughter, Judith Garvey-Lefebvre of Englewood, Colo.; brothers, Norris Garvey of Clarksville, Inc., Wallace E. and Silas R., both of Wichita, and a grandchild.
