Corbett McCurry died Saturday at 91
Corbett McCurry, 91, Douglass, died Saturday at his home.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the First Christian Church in Douglass. Rev. Coin W. Rees will officiate and burial will be in the Richland Cemetery, west of Douglass.
Memorials have been established with the Cowley County Hospice in Winfield and the American Cancer Society.
He was born June 1, 1895 in Stillwater, Okla., to George and Elizabeth Russell McCurry.
He married Maude P. Seal Oct. 8, 1941 in Newkirk, Okla. She survives.
Mr. McCurry was a retired farmer and Beech Aircraft Co. employee.
For more than 80 years he lived in Douglass where he was a member of the First Christian Church. He was a former member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.
Other survivors include daughters, Wauneta Ketterman of Douglass and Betty Dennett of Enid, Okla.; a brother, Emmett McCurry of Wichita; sisters, Grace Lickly of Wichita, Goldene Milstead of Dallas, Texas, Virginia Chance of Augusta; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home of Douglass is in charge of arrangements.

Frank J. Letellier died in Kansas City
Retired Mobil Pipeline worker and former Augusta resident Frank James Letellier, 77, Emporia, died Friday, Jan. 30, in Kansas City, Mo.
A visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 1, in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home chapel at Emporia. A graveside service was today at the Sheridan Cemetery in Auburn, Neb.,
Letellier was born Sept. 8, 1909 in Falls City, Neb.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Council Grove, Masonic Lodge 335 of Allen, Kan., and Old Mission Chapter 178 of OES at Council Grove.
Letellier retired from Mobil Pipeline in 1974 and had made his home at Emporia the past few years.
In addition to his wife, Helen of Emporia, he leaves two sons, James A. Letellier of Kansas City, Kan., and Richard D. Letellier of Junction City; two brothers, Joseph F. Letellier of Richmond, Calif., and Barton E. Letellier of Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Mabel Gerard of Fairfield, Calif., and Bertha Galloway of Lincoln, Neb., and six grandchildren.
Memorials to the Lyon County (Kan.) Heart Fund have been suggested.

Fairy E. Champlin died at 83 in Dexter
Fairy Edna Champlin, 83, Cedar Vale, mother of Aileen Bair of Augusta, died yesterday at a Dexter nursing home.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale. Rev. Paul Olson will officiate and burial will be in the Cedar Vale Cemetery.
She was born May 5, 1903 in Stockton, Mo., to Robert and Addie McCall Morland.
She married John F. Champlin March 30, 1921 in Sedan. He survives.
Mrs. Bair was a member of the Cedar Vale First Baptist Church, the Rebekah Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
Other survivors include a son, Merl Champlin of Cedar Vale; daughters, Betty Smith of Overland Park, Nadine Leedy of Cedar Vale, Norma McGlasson of Winfield and Donna Green of Independence; a brother, Jack Morland of Washington; a sister, Electa Imel of Enid, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Wheeler Funeral Home in Cedar Vale is in charge of arrangements.

John Perkins died Monday
John Franklin Perkins, 74, Topeka, brother of Nelli Thompson of Augusta, died Monday.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.
He was a retired farmer.
Other survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; a son, James R. of Topeka; daughter, Ruth Ann Dunham of Mineral Wells, Texas; stepson, James LaClair of Hutchinson; brother, Timothy Perkins of Vancouver, Wash.; sisters, Edith Thompson of Lost Springs, Martha Roby of El Dorado, Bessie Shattel of Wichita, Eliza Moore of Henrietta, Okla.; half brother, James Henry Applegate of Oldfield, Mo.; four grandhcildren; three step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandhild.
