Gordon R. Arnold funeral tomorrow
A Friday afternoon funeral is planned for Gordon R. Arnold, 71, 129 Main, who died Tuesday at St. Francis medical center in Wichita. The service will begin at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon in the Dunsford Funeral Home chapel here and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Arnold was born March 7, 1916 in Udall as a son of George and Anne S. Nachbor Arnold.
He married the former Marie Blake Jan. 14, 1938 in El Dorado. She preceded him in death in 1983.
He leaves a brother, Glenn of Wichita; five sisters, Lola Chappell, Georgia Colbert, Esther Blake, all of Augusta, Dorothy Lankford of Wichita and Doris Jean Wood of Gillette, Wyo.

Nathan A. Harms died in Wichita
Nathan A. Harms, 79, Wichita, brother of John V. Harms of Augusta, died Tuesday at his home.
His funeral wil be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the First United Methodist Church in Wichita. Rev. Leonard S. Cowan will officiate and burial will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church in Wichita.
He was born Nov. 24, 1907 near Whitewater to Peter J. and Frieda Wuthrich Harms.
He married Alieda Balzer in Whitewater on June 10, 1931. She survives.
He was a retired Sedgwick County auditor.
Other survivors include a son, Dr. Robert A. Harms of Topeka; a daughter, Dr. Mary Ann Lauver of Wichita; sisters, Agatha Reimer of Beatrice, Neb., Esther Penner, Dorothy Penner and Justena Claassen, all of Newton; brothers, Leonard of Salem, Ore., Alvin of Newton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James Hammon Sr. memorial set
A memorial has been set for James Hammon Sr., 61, Route 4, who died Tuesday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
The memorial has been established with the Prairie Hills Baptist Church in rural Augusta.
Mr. Hammon’s funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Prairie Hills Baptist Church.

Florence S. Weeks funeral was today
Funeral services were today in Nebraska City, Neb., for Florence Smith Meeks, a former Butler County resident.
She and her first husband, Dorrel Smith, lived in the Tadlock and Bloomington areas, southeast of Augusta. They moved to Nebraska in 1948. He died in 1966.
She married Dea Weeks on August, 1967 and moved to western Kansas where she lived until July, 1986. The she moved to Brock, Neb., to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Survivors include daughters, Deloris Stukenholtz, and her husband, George, of Nebraska City, and Donella Cruikshonk and her husband, Dean, of Brock, Neb., six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, two sisters and two brothers.
Rites were today
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at the Dunsford Funeral Home for Gordon R. Arnold, 71, 129 Main.
He died Tuesday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.

Harold Bartleson died in Whitewater
Harold Burke Bartleson, 85, Route 1, died Saturday at Wheat State Nursing Home in Whitewater.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Gus Kubish will officiate and burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 23, 1901, in Mitchell County to Silas and Frances Lummis Bartleson.
He married Roberta Hill on Sept. 9, 1944 in Independence. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Max of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Judith Ann buchanan iof Towanda, Janet Lee Reeser of Miami Springs, Fla., and Phyllis Akers of Littleton, Colo.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
John D. Clark
John David Clark, 13-day-old son of David and Teresa Clark of rural El Dorado, died Saturday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
A graveside service was at 11 a.m. today at the Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Mel Brown officiated.
