Andover woman found dead
The 57-year-old wife of the late Andover fire chief, Ray Kelley, was found dead at her home this morning.
Andover officials report an autopsy was being done in Wichita this afternoon to determine the cause of death of Janet Kelly.
“It looks like she died of natural causes,” assistant fire chief Butch Duggan said. “Lieutenant Rich Lindahl found her body this morning after her boss called us to report she hadn’t arrived at work.”
Mrs. Kelley worked as a secretary at Sunco in Andover.
Her husband had served full time on the Andover fire department since 1960, according to Duggan. He became chief about a year before he died Aug. 27, 1986.
Downing and Lahey Funeral Home is Wichita will be in charge of arrangements.

Eliza A. Moore died in Oklahoma
Eliza A. Moore of Schulter, Okla., sister of Nellie F. Thompson of Augusta, died Monday in Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.
She was born Sept. 3, 1903, to Jesse F. and Jessie Grace Perkins in Hitchcock County, Nebraska.
She married Houston Moore on March 3, 1920, in Missouri.
He preceded her in death in 1950.
Mrs. Moore was a former Augusta resident.
Besides her sister, she leaves two children, Airalee of Schulter, Okla., and a daughter, Wanita Scott of Norman, Okla.; brothers, Tim Perkins of Vancover, Wash., James Henry Applegate of Oldfield, Mo.; sisters, Edith Thompson of Lost Springs, Martha Roby of El Dorado and Bessie Shautel of Wichita.

Carl Goodknight died in Wichita
Carl L. Goodknight, 68, rural Augusta, died yesterday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Miller and Rev. Tommy Faris will officiate and burial will be in the Leon Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
He was born July 17, 1918, in Dewey, Okla., to Charles A. and Hattie Crawford Goodknight.
He married Olive Cassity on April 14, 1937, in Dewey. She survives.
Mr. Goodknight was a retired Beech Aircraft Co. employee. He served in the military in World War II and came to Butler County in 1951. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Other survivors include a son, Leroy Goodknight of Wichita; daughter, Carol J. Weirich of Augusta; brothers, Howard Goodknight of Fairview, Okla., Victor “Vic” Goodknight of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Betty Fairchild of Yuma, Ariz., Hazel Hammons of Ponca City, Okla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Victor Clark died yesterday
Victor Clark, 78, Arkansas City, formerly of Augusta, died yesterday at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Church in Augusta. Father Tom Stroot will officiate and burial will be in an Arkansas City cemetery.
He was born Aug. 1, 1908, in Conway Springs.
He married Helen Sharp. She survives.
Mr. Clark was a retired Mobil Refinery Co. employee.
Survivors include Kermit Clark of Lawrence, Robert Clark of Arkansas City and Norman Clark of Beulah, N.D.; daughters, Joan Tiller of Houston, Texas, Juanita Hall of Oklahoma City, Okla., and 12 grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta is in charge of arrangements.

Dona Fay Fredrick died at 59 Saturday
Dona Fay Fredrick, 59, 1321 Osage, died Saturday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Kuster Cemetery near Augusta.
She was born March 26, 1928, in Wichita, to Deerwood William and Hazel Bell Haskins Weyl.
She married Clarence M. Fredrick on Aug. 13, 1953, in Rogers, Ark. He survives.
Mrs. Fredrick lived in Oxford and Douglass before moving to Augusta.
Other survivors include a son, Robert H. Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; daughters, Sharon Harrison of Neosho, Mo., Diana Bush of Hutchinson, Kathlene McElroy of Augusta; sisters, Phyliss Cline of Novato, Calif., Dorothy Russell of Scottsdale, Ariz., and grandchildren, Dale and Annette Randall, Fred and Josh McElroy and Kellie Bush.
