Violet V. King funeral today
Retired practical nurse Violet V. King, 82, Wichita, mother of Richard G. King of rural Augusta, died Sunday, May 17, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral service was at 2 o’clock this afternoon (May 19) in the Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita. Rev. Mike Hughes of the Countryside Christian Church officiated and entombment was in the Mission Chapel mausoleum.
She was born Aug. 10,1904 at Forgan, Okla., as a daughter of Philip H. and Sarah Hutchins Kraft.
She married Roy King. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. King was an Order of Eastern Star member at Protection, Kan.
In addition to her son here, she leaves a daughter, Irene Wilson of Ashland; three brothers, Galen Kraft of Wichita, Loyd Kraft of Andover, and Junior Kraft of Pawnee, Okla.; three sisters, Ica Bartlett and Clarice DeHaven, both of Wichita, and Melissa Snyder of Arkansas City; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Erma Belle Young died in Wichita
Erma Belle Young, 75, Wichita, mother of Bethyl J. Posey of Douglass, died Sunday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Quiring Old Mission Mortuary. Rev. Gerald Hallerg will officiate and burial will be in the Wichita Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established with Calvary Presbyterian church in Wichita.
She was born April 4, 1912, in pipestone, Minn., to Glen W. and Vilda Coder McCurdy.
She married Carl E. Young. He receded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Young was a retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. engineering blue printer.
Other survivors include sons, Richard G. of Fayetteville, NEC., Gerald L. of Albany, Ore.; daughter, Renita Belle Yoesel of Wichita; brothers, Curtis McCur-ly of Lindsey, Calif., Ralph McCurdy of Compton, Calif., Keith McCurdy of Castle Rock, Colo.; sister, Ardythe Gallatin of Wichita, Betty North of Minneapolis, Minn., Vadise Pankonen of Pipestone, Barbara Onnen of San Diego, Calif.; 14 granchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Robert Osborn’s rites were today
Robert Osborn, 76, Stockton, father of Priscilla All of Augusta, died Saturday at the Hadley Regional Medical Center in Hays.
A memorial service was at 10 a.m. today at the Congregational Church in Stockton. Rev. Julia Tipton Rendon officiated.
A memorial has been established with the church.
He was born Jan. 2, 1911, in Stockton, to O.O. and Amy Shaner Osborn.
He married Elizabeth “Betty” Whittemore on Jan. 8, 1942, in Topeka. She survives.
Mr. Osborn was a lawyer. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Washburn University in Topeka. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was also a member of the New-abuba Lodge 189 AF&AM, the Stockton Rotary Club and the Kansas Bar Association.
He was on the board of directors for the High Plains Mental Health Center in Hays.
Other survivors include a son, Dr. Mark Osborn of Pueblo, Colo.; daughter, Barbara Humpert of Winfield, and eight
grandchildren.
