Sylvia M. Dunlap rites were today
Sylvia Marie Dunlap, 85, Douglass, died Friday at a Winfield hospital.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m. today at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Ferguson officiated and burial was in the Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the church.
She was born March 16, 1902, in Marietta, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary Elizabeth McClead Miller
She married Luther Dunlap on May 1, 1919, in Vincennes, Ind. He survives.
Mrs. Dunlap was a Methodist.
Other survivors include sons, Donald W. of Salt Lake City, Utah, Owen E. of Tulsa, Okla., Jimmy F. of Douglass; brother, John Miller of Perry, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass is in charge of arrangements.
Betty J. Payton died yesterday
Betty Joanna Payton, 76, Augusta, died yesterday at the Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Miller will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1920, in Delaware County, Okla., to Samuel and Margaret Seaburn Buckett.
She married Melvin David Payton on March 17, 1933, in Jay, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1961.
Survivors include a son, Keith Allen of Augusta; daughters, Joyce Newatha Brown and Doris Plummer, both of Augusta; a sister, Belma Nutter of Augusta; six grandchildren including Kathy Bowman of Augusta, and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Dorvin Dean Davis, also preceded her in death.

Henri Buddette died in Missouri
Henry “Bud” Buddette, Ozark, Mo., formerly of Augusta, died Sunday.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ozark.
Mr. Burdette was a former Boeing Military Aircraft Co. employee.
He married the former Edith Hutter of Augusta. She survives.
Other survivors include a son; four daughters, and two brothers-in-law, Joe and Clinton Hutter, both of Augusta.

Hazel Marsh died yesterday
Hazel Marsh, 86, formerly of 1229 Osage, died yesterday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Burl Allison Jr. will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the Senior Citizens Friendship Center in Augusta.
She was born Aug. 26, 1900, in Matfield Green to George and Carrie Pracht Underwood.
She married Dan Becker on Nov. 18, 1920, He preceded her in death in 1933. She married Jerry Marsh Oct. 19, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. Marsh was a member of the VFW and Moose auxiliaries.
Survivors include a son, Russel Becker of Derby; daughters, Cyvylla Simpson of Augusta and Wanda Schreiber of Wichita; brother, Homer Underwood of Wichita; sisters, Naomi Murray and Mina Pringle, both of San Diego, Calif., Margaret Corfman of El Dorado; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The Dunsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Opal Dowell died at home
Opal Dowell, 88, Douglass, died Monday at her home.
Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the First Christian Church in Douglass. Rev. Robert C. Ely will officiate and burial will be in the Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church in Douglass.
She was born Feb. 24, 1899, north of Douglass, to Robert B. and Olive E. Neal Patterson.
She married Ernest Dowell. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1974.
Mrs. Dowell was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Wichita; daughters, Etta Johnson of El Cerrito, Calif., Olive Quiring Miller of Wichita, Alice Hoskinson of Seattle, Wash., Delores Powell of Caney; sisters, Iris Gross of El Dorado, Robert Ruggles of Augusta; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta.
John M. Conder died Monday
John Marlin Conder, 76, Douglass, died Monday at a Great Bend hospital.
Masonic graveside services were at 2 p.m. today at the Cumberland Cemetery in rural Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.
He was born July 12, 1910, in rural Douglass, to John Robert and Manila Bare Conder.
Mr. Conder was a retired oil field worker.
Survivors include sons, James Marlin of Dublin, Calif., John Aaron of Aztec, N.M.; daughter, Cynthia Jone of Salinas, Calif.; sisters, Mattie Fern Reser of Augusta, Verda Bell Getchell of Bradford, Penn., Margaret Newman of Ellinwood, Louida Stafford of Smileyburg, and a grandchild.
