Oliver Paul Klassen funeral tomorrow
Oliver Paul Klassen, 68, Newton, father of Marjorie Snyder of Augusta, died Tuesday, June 16.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. tomorrow at Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite, Newton. Burial will be at the Zion Mennonite Church Cemetery in Elbing.
Klassen was born May 19, 1919 in Lehigh.
On March 19, 1950, he and the former Rosella G. Friesen were married in Newton.
Klassen, a retired truck driver, was a trustee and board member of the First Missionary Church, Newton.
In addition to his daughter here, his survivors include his wife, Rosella; sons, David of Newton, Alan of Elkhorn, Neb.; daughters, Lena Woolverton of Denton, Texas; Rosanne Hayes of Moundridge; stepmother, Agathe Klassen of Newton; brother Jacob of Winfield; sister, Louella Grey of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren.
Lamb Mortuary, Whitewater, has the funeral arrangements.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

‘Shorty’ Hughes funeral tomorrow
Buell Orville “Shorty” Hughes, 82, Augusta, died Thursday, June 18, at the Augusta Medical Complex.
His graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Jon Grissom will officiate.
Hughes was born Dec. 4, 1904 at Corney, Okla, to William Tell Hughes and Martha Aimer Sloan.
On April 5, 1948, he and the former Thelma Jaunita Lane were married in Wichita.
He was a retired Mobil Oil Co. instrument man and a member of the Augusta First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife; step-son, Guy Patrick Corcoran, Augusta; daughter, June Elliott, Augusta; half-brother, Robert Lindsey, Tyrone, Okla.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
His son, Glenn, preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.

Ollive Shoemaker died in Coffeyville
Ollive E. Shoemaker, 90, Coffeyville, sister of Viola Shaver of Douglass, died Friday, June 19.
Her graveside service was 10 a.m. Monday at the Fairview Cemetery. Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service, Coffeyville, had the arrangements.
Shoemaker was born Oct. 1, 1896 to William and Elizabeth J. (Palmer) Merritt in Chandler, Okla.
On Sept. 7, 1919, she and Bedford C. Shoemaker were married in Chandler, Okla.
Shoemaker was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Church in Clifton, Colo.
In addition to her sister, Viola, survivors include: five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Annie B. Orange died in Wichita
Annie B. Orange, 82, Wichita, mother of Elizabeth Betty King of Augusta, died Thursday, June 18.
Her funeral service was 10 a.m. Monday at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita. Burial was at Jamesburg Park, Wichita. Officiating were Rev. James A. Bell and Rev. Dessie Bollinger.
Orange was born Sept. 18, 1904 to Francis Marion Matthews and Louise Williams in Reagon Township, Okla.
On April 2, 1922, she and Edward A. Orange were married in Pauls Valley, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Orange was a member of the Douglas Ave. Assembly of God Church, Wichita.
In addition to her daughter, Elizabeth, her survivors include: sons, Edward A. of Chauteau, Okla.; Richard O. of Wichita; daughters, Dornetha O. Hunt, Lois Lawanna Bell, both of Wichita, L. Berniece Evans of Afton, Okla.; brother, Barney L. Matthews of Wichita; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Roy T. McNabb service Wednesday
Roy Thompson McNabb, 69, Augusta, retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. employee, died Saturday, June 20, at the Veterans Adminstration Hospital, Wichita.
His funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary in Wichita. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Good Hope Cemetery, Helena Okla. Rev. Max Vanetz will officiate.
McNabb was born July 6, 1917 to Elmer Luther McNabb and Bertha Thompson in Forgan,

Two step-grandchildren of Buell Orville “Shorty” Hughes were unintentionally omitted by the family from Friday’s obituary outline from the funeral home. Those step-grandchildren are Ann and Amy Corcoran, both of Augusta. Mr. Hughes’ graveside service was Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery here.
