Florence Mae Klein funeral tomorrow
Florence Mae (Higerd) Klein, 57, of Wichita, mother of Delilah Johnson of Douglass, died Monday, July 27.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens and Rev. Vance Cauthon will officiate.
Klein was born Aug. 19, 1929 to Clarence Higerd and Alice Stiger Higerd in Oklahoma.
She was an employee of HCA Wesley Medical Center and a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her daughter in Douglass, survivors include: daughter, Alice Berry of Wichita; father, Clarence Higerd of Wichita; sisters, Betty Blanco of Taft, Calif., Jean Kitchen of Wichita; eight grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
Mary Leah Carr died Monday
Mary Leah Carr, 87, of Rose Hill, mother of Virginia Dagel of Douglass, died Monday, July 27.
Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. tomorrow at Rose Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery and Rev. Bob Baer will officiate. Smith Mortuary in Derby has the arrangements.
Carr was born Feb. 13, 1900 to Mr. and Mrs. George M. Woodburn in Wichita.
In Dec., 1920, she and William Carr were married in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Carr was a homemaker and a member of the Rose Hill United Methodist Church.
In addition to her daughter in Douglass, survivors include: sons, Dr. Dale of Mulvane, Darrell of Monroe, Ohio, Paul of Udall, Jack of Rose Hill; daughter, Polly Bush of Miami; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Rose Hill United Methodist Church.

James C. Kirkland service tomorrow
James C. Kirkland, 62, El Dorado, father of Colleen K. Cox of Augusta, died Thursday, July 30, at the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado.
A memorial service wilal be held at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Aug. 1.
This retired Getty Oil Co. employee was born Nov. 14, 1924 in Tulsa as a son of Fred and Minta Koons Kirkland.
He was a member of the First
United Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Elks.
In addition to the daughter here, he leaves his wife, Pat, of the home; a father, Fred of Topeka; a sister, Mary Dickson of Richmond, Calif., another daughter, Billee Douglass of El Dorado, and four grandchildren.
Memorials to the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital auxiliary and the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
Winifred Stocking died in Winfield
Winifred (Haas) Stocking, 87, former teacher and Augusta resident, died Wednesday, July 29.
Her funeral service was 10:30 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. Burial was in Highland Cemetery and Rev. David Broddle officiated. Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home had the arrangements.
Stocking was born April 1, 1900 to Madge and Frederick Haas in Texas.
On July 25, 1925, she married Max V. Stocking in Augusta. He preceded her in death.
Stocking was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a former member of Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Augusta High School and Southwestern College in Winfield.
Her survivors include: daughter, Martha Lois Stansifer of Tucson; brother, Fritz Haas of Bartlesville, Okla.; sisters, Ella Haas of Arkansas City, Ruth Cullins of Peabody, Martha Impson of Wickenburg, Ariz., Laura Pickens of Texas; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with Grace United Methodist Church.

Glen H. Shelton died in Hutchinson
Glen Harvey Shelton, 68, of Hutchinson, father of Glenda Thompson of Augusta, died Friday, July 31.
His funeral service will be 1 p.m. tomorrow at Johnson & Sons Memorial Chapel in Hutchinson. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery and Rev. Willard Stafford will officiate.
Shelton was born May 12, 1919 to James Harvey Shelton and Maurine Johnson Shelton in Aiken, Texas.
On April 7, 1945 he and Nellie Arlene Baker were married in Montrose, Calif. She preceded him in death April 25, 1985.
Shelton was a retired Boeing Military Airplane Co. electronic technitian. He was a World War II veteran of the Marines and was a member of the Disabled. can Veterans in Hutchinson and a member of the Moose Lodge.
In addition to his daughter here, survivors include: son, Avery W. of Wichita; brother, Fred of Phoenix; sister, Juanita Crabtree of Obeitz, Ohio; three grandchildren.
