Kevin D. Burnam died Tuesday
Kevin D. Burnam, 18, of Wichita, grandson of Delbert Baker of Leon, died Tuesday, Sept. 1.
His funeral service was 10:30 a.m. today at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita.
Burnam was born June 19, 1969 to Peggy Jean and Glenn Burnam in Wichita.
He was a roofer for Tuff Roofing, Inc. and a graduate of South High School.
In addition to his grandfather in Leon, survivors include: mother, Peggy Jean Burnam of Derby; father and stepmother, Glenn and
Judith Burnam of Wichita; brothers, Brent Burnam of Roswell, Ga., Daryl Burnam, Christopher Burnam, Jamie Burnam, Brian Holt, all of Wichita; sister, Amber Burnam of Derby; grandparents, Dee Burnam of Wichita, Ila Latta of Haysville; grandmother and stepgrandfather, Lorena and Ray Allen of Derby.
A memorial has been established with the Youth Crisis Center.

Claude ‘Trix’ Need funeral tomorrow
Claude M. “Trix” Need, 74, of Atlanta, died at his home Sunday, Sept. 6.
His graveside service will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Douglass Cemetery. Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate. Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield has the arrangements.
Need was born May 1, 1913 to Bert and Blanche Haaga Claude north of Atlanta.
Need was a farmer and sheep shearer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 202 in Douglass.
His survivors include: mother, Blanche of the home; sister, Lucille Bannon of Fort Morgan, Colo.; many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial has been established for Need’s mother, Blanche.

G.R. ‘Chick’ Evans services pending
Funeral services are pending for G.R. “Chick” Evans, 76, of Augusta, who died this morning.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Gladys Y. Dixon died Friday
Gladys Y. Dixon, 91, King-man, mother of Elizabeth (Dixie) Fisher of Augusta, died Friday, Sept. 4.
Her funeral service was 2 p.m. yesterday at Livingston Funeral Home in Kingman. Burial was in Cleveland Cemetery.
Dixon was born Sept. 21, 1895 to Cortlandt and Mary Ann Cook VanArsdale in Spivey, Kan.
On Feb. 25, 1914, she and Lloyd E. Dixon were married in Spivey. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1941.
Dixon was a retired food service director at Donley Hospital and Kingman Community Hospital. She was a member of the Kingman United Methodist Church, Cleveland EHU, VFW Auxiliary, Forrest Home Grange and Mizpah Rebekah Lodge.
In addition to her daughter here, survivors include: sons, Howard of Spivey, Cortlandt of Halstead, Eugene, Gloyd, both of Kingman, Jack of Springfield, Colo., Lawrence of Winfield, Richard of Wichita; daughter, Anna M. Taber of Kingman; 30 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Cleveland Cemetery Improvement Fund.

Glen ‘Chick’ Evans funeral Saturday
Glen Russell “Chick” Evans,
76, of Augusta, died yesterday at Augusta Medical Complex Inc.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dunsford Chapel. Rev. Harold Kieler will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Evans was born May 24, 1911 to Samuel and Edith McClelland Evans in El Dorado.
On June 16, 1934, he and Twyla Skogheim were married in Walker, Minn.
Evans was a retired Mobil employee and brick mason. He served in the Navy Seabees during World War II and he attended the Methodist Church.
His survivors include: wife, Twyla; son, Robert “Bob” of Independence; daughter, Barbara Jean Hartley of Wichita; brother,
J.T. Evans of El Dorado; stepbrother, Bill Evans of Joplin, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Augusta Senior Citizens Center.

Delbert Evenson died in Cherryvale
Delbert “Doc” Evenson, 68, of Cherryvale, retired carpenter, father of Louise Louia of Augusta, died Tuesday, Sept. 8.
His funeral service was 2 p.m. today at Loran Fawcett funeral Home in Neodesha. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery near Severy and Rev. Dwight Berkstresser officiated.
Evenson was born June 21, 1919 to Elvin N. and Zoe I. Love Evenson in Rosalia.
On Sept. 18, 1943, he and Glenna Keeler were married in Fredonia.
In addition to his daughter here, survivors include: wife, Glenna; sons, James of Caney, Dale of Coffeyville, Robert of Jacksonville, N.C.; brothers, Orville of Neodesha, Howard of Tacna, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
