Hazel L. Williams died in Winfield
Hazel L. Williams, 88, of Winfield, mother of Barbara McGinnis of Douglass, died yesterday.
Her graveside service will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Cedar Vale Cemetery and Mike Brazle will officiate the service. Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield has the arrangements.
Williams was born Feb. 9, 1899 to George and Emma Poison Parks in Hart’s Mills, Kan.
On June 1, 1923, she and Kale A. Williams were married in her parents home in Cedar Vale. He preceded her in death April 13, 1967.
Williams was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church. She and her husband owned and operated a Chevrolet auto dealership in Cedar Vale for 35 years.
In addition to her daughter in Douglass, survivors include: sons, Kale A. Jr. of Chicago, Bill of Hutchinson, Dick of King-wood, Texas; daughters, Joan Cornett of Winfield, Pat McGlasson of Bartlesville, Okla., Nancy Richards of Rose Hill; 24 grandchildren,; 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Medicalodge in Douglass.
Dr. Willard Ridge died in Montana
Dr. Willard H. Ridge son of Icy Ridge and brother of Don Ridge, both of Augusta, died Sunday at his home in Vaughn, Mont.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Croxfords Funeral Home in Great Falls, Mont.
Ridge was born April 19, 1931 to Eugene M. and Icy P. Warner Ridge at Haverhill. He was a graduate of Augusta High School and Michigan State University.
In addition to his mother and brother here, survivors include: wife, Gail; son, Barry of Rome, N.Y.; daughters, Vicky Homer of El Dorado, Elizabeth Ridge of Wichita Falls, Texas; three grandsons.

Mary E. Darter funeral tomorrow
Mary E. Darter, 73, of Douglass, died yesterday at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at the United Methodist Church in Douglass. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery and Rev. Dan Ferguson will officiate. Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home in Douglass has the arrangements.
Darter was born Feb. 13, 1914 to James and Anna Brown Bare.
On March 14, 1936, she and Alvin Darter were married.
Darter was a retired aircraft worker and restaurant owner and operator. She recently served as manager of Douglass senior citizens meals program and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Her survivors include: husband, Alvin; son, Don of St. Maries, Idaho; brother, Charles Bare of Idaho Springs, Colo.; one grandchild.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass Senior Citiznes Center.

Glen C. Smith funeral Saturday
Glen C. Smith, 46, of Augusta, a Kansas Highway Patrol turnpike division trooper, formerly of Pittsburg, died yesterday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
His funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home in Wichita. Burial will be 4 p.m. in Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg.
Smith was born Oct. 24, 1940 to Calvin L. and Hazel Hudson Smith in Pittsburg.
Survivors include: sons, Barry
of Garden Plain, Brian of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Lisa of Garden Plain; brother, Gene of Phoenix; three grandchildren.

Carolyn S. Carroll died Tuesday
Carolyn S. (Johnson) Carroll, 31, of Reece, stepsister of Larry Clark of Augusta, died Tuesday.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Campbell Funeral Home in Eureka. Burial will be in Reece Cemetery and Rev. Jerry Clark will officiate.
Carroll was born March 13, 1956 to George and Charlene Kendall Johnson in El Dorado.
On Sept. 12, 1982, she and David Carroll were married in Matfield Green.
Carroll was a homemaker and a member of Eureka Christian Center.

Funeral services are pending for Carolyn Elliott, 43, of Augusta, who died of injuries suffered in an automobile accident late Tuesday night on the Kansas Turnpike just south of the Andover interchange.
Roberts Funeral Home in Blackwell, Okla., will have the arrangements.
