Arley M. Kistler died today
Arley M. Kistler, 92, of Leon, died today.
His funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Leon United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Leon Cemetery and Rev. Keith Mace will officiate. Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado has the arrangements.
Kistler was born Oct. 19, 1894 to George and Julia Garman Kistler in El Dorado.
On Sept. 11, 1915, he and Gladys Marks were married in El Dorado.
Kistler had been a rural mail carrier and a member of the Leon United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Wichita Consistory and the Rural Mail Carriers Association. He was a 70 year member of the Joppa Masonic Lodge in Leon.
His survivors include: wife, Gladys; sons, Arley J. of Carter, Okla., Howard of Enid, Okla.; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Vera Sapp services pending
Funeral services are pending for Vera Sapp, 80, of Augusta, who died yesterday.
Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Lucille McLean died in Wichita
Services are pending for Lucille Spalsbury McLean, 67, of McFarland, Kan., sister of Margaret Spalsbury of Augusta, who died yesterday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
McLean was born Aug. 20, 1920 to Ross L. and Gertrude Spalsbury in Arizona.
On April 4, 1957, she and Harold N. McLean were married in Portland, Ore. He preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1987.
In addition to her sister here, survivors include: eight children; brother, William A. Spalsbury of London, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
Mother dies in Arkansas
Bessie L. Weston, 76, died yesterday in Springdale Memorial Hospital, Springdale, Ark. She was the mother of William K. Weston, Augusta.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the Round Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemeteary.
Memorials may be made to the church. Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville has charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Weston was born Jan., 11, 1911, in Vincent, Okla., to Fredrick N. and Ida Rash Holmes.
She married William J. Weston, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1983.
She was a homemaker and attended Round Mountain Missionary Baptist Church, near Fayetteville, Ark.
In addition to the son here, she is survived by sons Frank D of Wichita, Fred G. of Springdale, James D. of Fairfax, Va., and John Russell of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, C.F. Holmes, Talihina, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Roger L. Prewitt died yesterday
Roger L. Prewitt, 69, of Leon, died yesterday.
His graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Leon Cemetery.
Rev. Art Wilson will officiate.

Prewitt was born Nov. 29,
1917 to Claude and Lessie Cad-dell Prewitt in Chillicothe, Mo.
On Aug. 4, 1939, he and June Bowe were married in Laredo,
Mo.
Prewitt was a retired Beech
Aircraft Corp. employee and member of the Leon Christian Church.
His survivors include: wife,
June; son, Randy of Leon; daughters, Marilyn Buss of Wichita, Marjorie Hufman of El Dorado; brother, Lawrence of Trenton, Mo.; sisters, Grace Wells of Clarksville, Tenn.,
Mildred Walton of Chillicothe,
Mo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Wildlife Association.

Jean Parker died yesterday
Jean Parker, 60, of rural Leon, died yesterday at Augusta Medical Complex, Inc.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dunsford Chapel, 201 East Fifth Street.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Parker was born Sept. 5, 1927 to Richard and Florence B. McDermott Phillips in Golden,
Mo.
On Jan. 23, 1948, she and G.
Dean Parker, Sr. were married in Bentonville, Ark.
Parker was a medic aide at long term care at A.M.C.I. and a member of First Church of God.
Her survivors include: husband, G. Dean; son, Gerald Dean parker, Jr. of Augusta; daughters,
Rita Kathleen Cook of Augusta,
Frieda Maxine Hodgens of El Dorado, Lori Ann Parker of Leon,
Gail Lynn Ross of Lexington,
Texas; sisters, Wilma Hoenshell of Jasper, Mo.; 11 grandchildren.
