Lawslion G. Baker died in Wichita
Lawslion G. Baker, 68, of Augusta, died yesterday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Dunsford Funeral Home, 201 East Fifth. Rev. Frank Miller will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Baker was born April 26, 1919 to Vess George and Lulu (Miler) Baker in Fredonia.
On Nov. 15, 1963, he and Rebecca Tolbert Robb were married in Enid, Okla.
Baker was a retired State of Kansas, Department of Transportation employee and a member of the Church of The Nazarene. Baker served in the Army during World War II.
His survivors include: wife, Rebecca; step-son, Charles Robb of Augusta; step-daughter, Donna Driver of Austin, Texas; sisters, Marion Watkins of Fredonia, Eva Powell of Augusta, Euphrates Hopper of Warm Springs, Ark.; five step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Church of The Nazarene.

Thelma May Benge died Wednesday
Thelma May Benge, 78, of Arkansas City, former Douglass resident, retired beautician, died Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Her graveside service was 2 p.m. today at the Douglass City Cemetery. Rev. William Bowles officiated and Hilyard-Smith Mortuary had the arrangements.
Benge was born Nov. 7, 1909 to Charles and Ethel Dora (Taylor) Smith in Douglass.
In 1927, she and C.W. “Bill” Benge were married. He preceded her in death._
Her survivors include: sister, Vera Cox of Wichita.
A memorial has been established with the Douglass City Library.

Truman H. Day funeral tomorrow
Truman H. Day, 88, of Wichita, independent life insurance agent, father of Alfred Day of Augusta, died Wednesday, Sept. 30.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Burial will be in Americus Cemetery in Americus, Kan. and Rev. Dean Flanner will officiate.
Day was born March 9, 1899 to Charles and Alida Straup Day in Allen, Kan.
In 1946, he and Alice Bur-rough were married in Emporia.
In addition to his son here, survivors include: wife, Alice; sons, Vernon of Wichita, Charles Duane of Emporia; daughters, Inez Griffith of Omaha, Dorothy Nicholes of Sedalia, Mo., Imogene Fowler of Emporia, Trudy Calloway, Vicki Herl, both of Wichita; brothers, Charles of Chanute, Roger of New Jersey; sisters, Violet Cowan of Emporia, Alice Anspaugh of Buffalo, Wyo., Vivian Seymour of San Francisco; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

October 6, 1987 Edward D. Young died yesterday
Edward D. Young, 81, of Latham, died Monday Oct. 5.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery and Rev. Bill Alley will officiate.
Young was born Dec. 5, 1906 to William and Jennie (Dunmire) Young in Wichita.
On July 30, 1926, he and Gloria Kathleen Nye were married in El Dorado.
Young was a retired Cities Service employee and rancher and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
His survivors include: wife, Gloria; son, Marvin of Latham; daughter, Elva Schouten of Latham; sister, Eva McInroy of Chatsworth, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with Fairview Baptist Church.

Marie Esther Lee died yesterday
Marie Esther Lee, 80, of Augusta, died yesterday at Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will be 2 p.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy and Rev. George Goudie will officiate. Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Lee was born Jan. 1, 1907 to Walter and Alma (Yarborough) Condon in Peck, Okla.
On July 7, 1925, she and Ichabod Lloyd Lee were married in Severy. He preceded her in death in 1961.
Lee was a homemaker and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
Her survivors include: son, Ersel of Hutchinson; daughters, Delma Copp of Augusta, Armetha Boucher of Lamar, Mo., Sharon Kay Milner of Fredonia; brother, Ike Condon of Douglass; sisters, Meda Felters of Eureka, Leona Nuebecker of Grenola, Mabel Brown of Wichita, Edna Mitchell of Douglass; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with First Southern Baptist Church.
