Alice Grunden died Saturday
Alice Grunden, 91, of Wichita, homemaker, sister of Violet Lanier of Douglass, died Saturday, Nov. 28.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Quiring-Old Mission Mortuary. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery and the Rev. Willard Neumann will officiate.
Grunden was born Aug. 30, 1896 in Rock, Kan.
In addition to her sister in Douglass, survivors include: son, Paul of Wichita; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Her husband Wilbur B. Grunden preceded her in death July 26, 1963.

Hugh A. McGee funeral tomorrow
Hugh A. McGee, 77, retired Frisco railroad employee, father of Howard R. of Augusta, died Saturday, Nov. 28.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Miles Memorial Chapel in Winfield. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery and the Rev. David Broddle will officiate.
McGee was born Aug. 25, 1910 to Edward P. and Cordelia Mathewson McGee in Centerville, Kan.
On Jan. 1, 1935, he and Velma Poe were married in Winfield.
In addition to his son here, survivors include: wife, Velma; son, Gerald D. of Monroe, Iowa; brother, Carl of Albuquerque; sister, Christa Holloway of Winfield; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Grace United Methodist Church and William Newton Memorial Hospital intensive care unit in Winfield.

George Dean funeral tomorrow
George V. Dean, 67, of Wichita, retired Cessna Aircraft Co. industrial engineer, father of Loweta Finlay and Debbie Beardslee, both of Augusta, died Sunday, Nov. 29.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita.
In addition to his daughters here, survivors include: wife, Florence; son, Dale of Wichita; stepdaughter, Sharon Flack of Woody Creek, Colo.; brother, Glenn of Pittsburg; sisters, Alma Den Love of Omaha, Lila Muhlstein of Santa Clara, Utah; nine grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association.

Lowell Meeks funeral tomorrow
Lowell Meeks, 74, of Leon, retired groundskeeper for the city of Bartlesville, died yesterday, Dec. 1.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. tomorrow at Carlson Funeral home in El Dorado. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville. The Rev. Mike Guthrie will officiate.
Meeks was born Feb. 25, 1913 to William and Ethel Houser Meeks near Leon.
He married Shirley Anne Blair in Bartlesville. She preceded him in death Jan. 21, 1978.
Meeks served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
His survivors include: son, Verne L., at home; sisters, Verna May Meeks of El Dorado, Hazel Cecil of Leon.
A memorial has been established with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Services held for Ruth Dennis
Services have been held in Tulsa for Ruth Dennis, former Douglass resident.
Dennis attended Southwestern College and was a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y.
She was a music teacher in the Tulsa schools and a member of the Tulsa Symphony and Tulsa Opera orchestras.
Her survivors include: husband, Robert of Tulsa; seven children; several grandchildren.

Larry Enzminger died in Missouri
Larry A. Enzminger, 97, of Cassville, Mo., former Wichita and Hutchinson resident, retired aviator, stepfather of Mary Lea Knox of Augusta, died Tuesday, Dec. 2.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Williamson-Cassville Funeral Home in Cassville.
In addition to his stepdaughter here, survivors include: wife, Virginia; stepson, George Ater of Kansas City, Mo.; brothers, Ben, Arthur, both of Columbus, Neb.; two stepgrandchildren.

Melvin Dickens funeral Saturday
Melvin E. Dickens, 82, retired farmer, of Thayer, brother of Lela Johnson of Augusta, died yesterday.
His funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Cherryvale. Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha has the arrangements.
In addition to his sister here, survivors include: wife, Ellen; daughter, Eileen Keighley of Reading; brothers, Clifford of Neodesha, Everett of California, George of Altoona; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
