Augustan’s father funeral today
Richard D. MacKenzie, 66, of Luing, La., former Wichitan, father of Linda Knollenberg of Augusta, died Friday, Nov. 27.
His funeral service was 1 p.m. today at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
In addition to his daughter here, survivors include: wife, Joyce; sons, David, at home, Richard of McPherson, Bill of Luing, Ronald of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Beth, Diane, both at home, Sharon Walker, Rosemary Watkins, Connie Silva, all of Wichita; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Services pending for Cleo Marlow
Services are pending at Beidelman Funeral Home in Guthrie Center, Iowa, for Cleo S. Marlow, 76, of rural Augusta, retired welder for Beech Aircraft Corp., who died yesterday.
Visitation at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta will be this evening and tomorrow. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Guthrie Center.
Marlow was born Dec. 7, 1910 to Clarence J. and Anna M. Sloss Marlow in Guthrie Center.
On April 15, 1935, he and Elizabeth Pearl Moore were married in Atlantic, Iowa.
His survivors include: wife, Elizabeth; sons, Lawrence, Anthony, both of Texas, David of Augusta, Bill of Redfield, Iowa, Thomas of Clearwater; daughters, Betty Poore, Joyce Tooth-man, Vickie Cook, all of Augusta, Mary Watson of Athens, Texas, Cheryl Wilson of Winfield; brothers, Herbert of Phoenix, Ariz., Quinton of Wichita; sisters, Rea Kenyon of Guthrie Center, Beulah Kapaski of Las Vegas, Nev; 36 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren.
Two infants preceded him in death.

Former Elk County sheriff dies
V.J. “Jim” Copeland, 56, of Howard, former Elk County sheriff and step-father of Peggy Moore and DeAnn Camp of Augusta, died Saturday, Dec. 5.
Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at First Baptist Church in Howard, with gravesite services at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in Mullinville.
Survivors include; wife, Helen; daughter, Teresa Carmichael of Emporia; stepsons, Ed Triboulet of Moline, Jeff Triboulet of Gulfport, Miss., James Triboulet of Howard; Carolyn Corle of Elk Falls, Betty Sauer of Wichita, Juanita Miller of Grenola; parents, Earl and Myrtle Eunice Copeland of Bucklin; brothers, Ernest of Littleton, Colo., Lawrence of Keys, Okla; three grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the Elk County Ministerial Alliance and the St. Francis Endowment Association Oncology Unit in Wichita.

Jack Pryor services held
Jack Pryor, 85, of Caldwell, retired machinist, and father of Floyd Pryor of Leon, died Thursday, Dec. 3.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6 at Schaeffer-Reager Mortuary in Caldwell.
Survivors include: wife, Mabel; sons, Charles of Houston, Lloyd of Caldwell, Floyd, of Leon; daughters, Helen Williamson of Caldwell, Rosetta Rowe of Wichita, Kathryn Schuerman of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Bertha Bothwell of Caldwell, Ellen Hawthorne of Renfrow, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Caldwell District Hospital.

Augustan’s brother died Dec. 5
Golden A. Burris Jr., 60, of Cheney, former Augustan and Hesston Corporation machine shop employee, died Saturday, Dec. 5.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. at Wulf Mortuary in Garden Plain.
Survivors include: one daughter, Louise Martin of Wichita; four sisters, including Mabel Elder of Augusta; 11 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

GALE E. BOGARD
Gale Bogard died today
Gale E. Bogard, 73, of Augusta, retired pumper for Mobil Oil Co., died at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita, today.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Bogard was born Nov. 21, 1914 to Osmer D. and Mary Stewart Bogard in Marietta, Ohio.
On April 9, 1934, he and Dorotha Haley were married in Shawnee, Okla.
Bogard was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Mystic Tie 74, Wichita Consistory, and Wichita Midian Shrine.
His survivors include: wife, Dorotha; son, Mike Bogard of Lawrence; two grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with The Shriners Plane of Mercy.
