Augustan’s brother died Sunday
Charles M. Rickerson, 89, of Chanute, retired farmer, brother of Ethel Mae Watson of Augusta, died Dec. 6.
His funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church. Johnson Mortuary has the arrangements.
In addition to his sister here, survivors include: sons, Donald of Robstown, Texas, Dean, Jean, both of Irrigon, Ore., Robert of Galena, Mo., James of Osawatomie, Max of Chanute; daughters, Eunice Ellsworth, Doris Foutz, both of Wichita, Barbara Beck of Chanute, Betty Reed of Towanda, Shirley Reed of Andover, Pauline Pool of Centerville, Sue McAdams of Tulsa; brother, Roy of Dallas; 51 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with First United Methodist Church and the Chanute Probst Center.

Irene E. Dill funeral tomorrow
Irene E. Dill, 80 of Wichita, retired American Red Cross executive secretary, former Augusta resident, died Monday,
Dec. 7.
Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. tomorrow at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Dill was born July 24, 1907 to Shannon and Katherine Hershberger DeCow in Kendrick, Okla.
On Nov. 8, 1931, she and John Dill were married in Parsons. He preceded her in death in 1969.
Her survivors include: son,
John of Mill Creek, Wash.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Other relatives include: Anna and Erma Boyd,
Kenneth Dill, all of Augusta.
A memorial has been established with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Augustan’s mother died in Arizona
Mary Etta Dorsey, 76, former Augustan, mother of Joy Lee Pressnell of Augusta, died Dec. 4 in Tucson, Ariz.
In addition to her daughter here, survivors include: husband, Alvey; sons, Rubert of Holbrook, Ariz., Richard of Topeka; brother, Newton Donegan of Winfield; six grandchildren.

Ida Martha Simon died today
Ida Martha Simon, 84, homemaker, of Augusta, died today at Augusta Medical Complex.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at St. James Catholic Church in Augusta. Her funeral mass, also at St. James Catholic Church, will be held 2 p.m. Monday. Father Thomas Stroot will officate the services and Dunsford Funeral Home has the arrangements.
Simon was born June 29, 1903 to Peter C. and Anna Jansen Seiler in Andale.
On Jan. 13, 1925, she and Robert Peter Simon were married in Colwich. He preceded her in death in 1954.
Her survivors include: sons, LeRoy, Elmer, Gene, Earl, all of Augusta, Cletus of Syracuse, Kan., Dennis of Dodge City, Kenneth of Douglass; daughters, Thelma Hoge, Doris Proctor, Mary Anderson, all of Augusta, JoAnn Heimerman of Wichita, Elizabeth Hanson of Janesville, Wis.; 59 grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Two daughters, Ethel MacKay and Mary Frances Simon, preceded her in death.

Services held for Golden Burris
Funeral services were held Dec. 8 in Garden Plain for Golden A. Burris, 60, brother of Mabel Elder of Augusta.
McConnell AFB Honor Guard conducted services at Goddard Cemetery and Wolf Funeral Home in Garden Plain had the arrangements.
His parents were Albert and Pearlie Towler Burris.
In addition to his sister here, survivors include: step-daughter, Louise Martin of Wichita; sisters, Zetta Webster of Holton, Myrtle Brenner of Howard, Audrey Bare of Palmdale, Calif.
Burris was preceded in death by his wife Marion, his parents, four sisters and one brother.

Augustans’ brother-in-law died in Missouri
Mr. and Mrs. Marion Williams and Mrs. and Mrs. Roe Cassity attended the funeral of their brother-in-law Bill Lathim of Liberal, Mo., Dec. 10.
