RALPH SCHNABEL
Ralph Schnabel funeral Wednesday
Ralph Donald Schnabel, 62, of Augusta, electrician, died Saturday, Dec. 12 at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be in Leon Cemetery and Rev. Burl Allison will officiate.
Schnabel was born Jan. 22, 1925 to George and Minnie S. Hugeback Schnabel in Indianapolis, Ind.
On June 22, 1974, he and Mary Wentz Bohon were married in Augusta.
Schnael served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Union Local 271 and the Presbyterian Church.
His survivors include: wife, Mary; son, Dennis of Wichita; stepson, Kenneth Bohon of Augusta; daughter, Kim Schnabel of Wichita; stepdaughters, Cathy Wheeler of Glendale, Ariz., Connie Dean of Junciton City; brothers, George C., Lawrence, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with St. Francis Hospital Oncology Department in Wichita.

Norbert Zogleman died Wednesday
Norbert J. Zogelman, 61, farmer, brother of Wilbert of Leon, died Wednesday, Dec. 9.
His funeral service was 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Burns.
Draper-Cannon Funeral Home has the arrangements.
In addition to his brother here, survivors include: wife, Bertha; sons, Patrick, Nicholas, both of Florence, Scott of Emporia; daughter, Carol Callahan of Florence; sister, Tillie Turner of Redondo Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren.

Walter Parrish funeral Wednesday
Walter “Pappy” Parrish, 94, of Augusta, retired farmer, father of Neal, grandfather of Ben and Barry, died yesterday.
His funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bedene Mortuary in Arma, Kan. Burial will be in Large Cemetery.
In addition to his son and grandsons here, survivors include: sons, Frank of Mesa, Ariz., John of Arcadia; daughter, Ruth of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
His wife Ida preceded him in death in 1985.

Augustan’s sister died Friday
Velma Arlene Heath, 62, of Belle Plaine, retired state of Kansas clerk/stenographer, mother of Marlene Nutter of Augusta, died Friday, Dec. 11.
Her funeral service was 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Belle Plaine. Frank Funeral Home in Wellington has the arrangements.
In addition to her daughter here, survivors include: sons, Michael of Wichita, Mark of Belle Plaine; daughters, Madaline Alexander of Mulvane, Mary Potter of Princeton, Marian Patricia Dobber of Los Angeles, Margaret Cross of Belle Plaine; stepson, Tom Dunn of Salt lake City; stepdaughters, Debra Dunn of Belle Plaine, Mary Sue Butler of Wichita, Sandy Smith of Oklahoma; sister, Hazel Conner of Dighton; 25 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established wtih the St. Francis Hospital Kidney Dialysis Unit.

Augustan’s father died Tuesday
Loyd Preston Boren, 67, of Wichita, retired planner for Boeing Military Airplane Co., brother of James H. of Augusta, died Tuesday, Dec. 15.
His funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Boren was born Nov. 5, 1920 to Loyd C. and Louisa Bowman Boren in Augusta.
In addition to his brother here, survivors include: wife, Betty; son, Jon of Leawood; daughter, Deborah Decker of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sister, Dorothy Cotton of Bossier City, La.; seven grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Victory in the Valley, First Presbyterian Church and the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children.

Laura Groom died yesterday
Laura Anna Groom, 73, of Augusta, died yesterday at Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be in Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, Kan. and the Rev. Jon F. Grissom will officiate.
Groom was born April 10, 1914to James Alonzo and Jeanette Pearl Walker Moore in Salem, Kan.
On Dec. 1, 1932, she and Robert Groom were married in Newkirk, Okla.
Groom was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church.
Her survivors include: husband, Robert; daughters, Esther Pressnell of Augusta, Roberta Boucher of Denver, Colo.; brother, Charles Moore of Winfield; sisters, Helen Pierce of Leon, Mary Smith of Winfield;
10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Heart Association.
