Monday, December 21, 1987
Groom funeral was held today
Laura Anna Groom, 73, of Augusta, died Thursday, Dec. 17, at Augusta Medical Complex.
Her funeral service was this afternoon at Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial was in Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, Kan., and the Rev. Jon F. Grissom officiated.
Groom was born April 10, 1914 to James Alonzo and Jeanette Pearl Walker Moore in Salem, Kan.
On Dec. 1, 1932, she and Robert Groom were married in Newkirk, Okla.
Groom was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church.
Her survivors include: husband, Robert; daughters, Esther Pressnell of Augusta, Roberta Boucher of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
A memorial has been established with the Heart Association.

Former Augustan’s spouse dies at 90
Lahnoe H. “Lon” Euler, 90, of Topeka, died Monday, Dec. 21. He was the husband of Leota Nye Euler, formerly of Augusta.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
Euler was born Oct. 26, 1896, in Topeka.
He married Marjorie Warren in 1928. She preceded him in death in 1976. In 1977, he married Leota Nye. She survives of the home.
Euler, a law school graduate of Washburn University, served as attorney, police judge and judge protem of the probate court in Topeka. He was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, the Topeka Bar Association and the Kansas Bar Association. He was a life member and past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge, and was a life member of the Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF & AM. He also held memberships in the Scottish Rite, Arab Shrine, Shawnee County Country Club and First United Methodist Church, all of Topeka. Other survivors include: one sister, Bessie Belt, and several nieces and nephews.
The Lahnoe Euler Endowment Fund for law books at Washburn University has been established for memorial contributions.

Mildred J. Fisher service tomorrow
Mildred J. Fisher, 80, Wichita, mother of Alben Becker of Douglass, died Sunday, Dec. 20.
Rosary will be at 8:15 p.m. tonight and a memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wichita.
Fisher was born Aug. 12, 1907, to George V. and Martha Gray Becker in Mt. Sterling, I11.
She married Lenard Fisher on Aug. 13, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Fisher, a homemaker and mother of 10 children, was a member of Altar Society, The Over 55 Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In addition to Becker, other survivors include: sons, Delbert of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Leonard of Indianapolis, Michael of Medicine Lodge, George of Winifred, Mont., the Rev. Kyle of Detroit, Bill of Wichita; daughters, Marian Turner, Grace Carel, both of Wichita; sister, Georgia Seraphin of Haywood, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with the Hospice of Wichita and Redemptorist Seminary, 145 N. Millwood, Wichita.

17-year-old dies after cancer fight
Shona Leigh Logsdon, 17, of Wichita, died Monday, Dec. 21, at St. Francis Hospital after a battle with cancer.
Rosary is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, also in Arkansas City. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery.
Logsdon was born May 20, 1970, to Donald and Maggie Reece Logsdon in Arkansas City.
She was a senior at Bluestem High School and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Her survivors include: father, Donald of Wichita; mother, Maggie of Winfield; sister, Jackie Alexander of Arkansas City; stepfather, Roy Bing of Latham; stepbrothers, Rex and Lance Bing of Latham; grandparents, Lena Loyd of Arkansas City, J.D. and Louella Logsdon of Douglass; great-grandparents, Maggie Palmer of Arkansas City, Eula Holt of Douglass; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Oncology Pediatric Unit at St. Francis Hospital, and can be made through Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
