Mary B. Foust dies in Wichita
Mary B. Foust, 86, of Wichita, died today at St. Francis Hospital. She was the mother of Lawrence E. Evans of Augusta and Francis R. Evans of Rose Hill.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Wichita. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, also in Wichita. The Rev. Leo A. Kerschen will officiate.
Foust was born Sept. 5, 1901, to Jacob and Frances Bollinger Karleskint in Fort Scott.
She was married to Robert Dewey Evans on Feb. 1921. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1950. On June 27, 1953, she married to Fred R. Foust. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1986.
Foust, a homemaker, was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Wichita.
Other survivors include: sons, Maurice L. Evans, Wichita, Jake Evans, Toronto, Kans., Raymond D. Evans, Diamond Bar, Calif.; brothers, Joe and Alfonso Karleskint, Commerce, Okla., Tim Karleskint, Santa Maria, Calif.; sisters, Catherine Foust, Miami, Okla., Margaret Volmer Reilman, Roland Heights, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.

Hilda Pfeiffer funeral Saturday
Hilda Pfeiffer, 86, Route 3, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, at her rural home.
Her funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, at the DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary in Wichita. A graveside service is slated for 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, in Barton County Memorial Park, Rogers, Ark.
She was born Oct. 13, 1901 in Davenport, Iowa, to Ben and Doris Goos Berner.
Mrs. Pfeiffer leaves four sons, Robert and Stanford of Augusta, Willis of Derby, and Orville of Wichita; three daughters, Ethel Boring of Hot Springs, Ark., Mary Fillippi of Walnut Creek, Colo., and Anna Mae Franco of Wichita; a sister, Louise Barbian of Kress, Texas, 27 grandchildren
and 28 great-grandchildren.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society and United Methodist Urban Ministries have been suggested.

Hazel Thompson, of Aurora, Mo., a former Augusta resident, died Sunday, Dec. 27.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 29, in Aurora.
Survivors include: sons, Russell E. Jr. of Wyckoff, N.J., Raymond W. of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Sue Stephans of Kansas City, Mo., Vonda Cupit, Seminole, Fla.
She was married to Russell E. Thompson Sr. He preceded her in death in 1965.

Florence Martin died Saturday
Florence May Martin, 72, of Ellinwood, died Saturday, Dec.
26, in Ellinwood.
A memorial service for Martin was earlier today at Dunsford Funeral Home. Burial was in Cumberland Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 18, 1915, to Homer and Ruby Valentine Wakefield in Douglass.
On July 12, 1941, she married Melvin Ray Martin in Douglass.
He preceded her in death on April 26, 1987.
Martin was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include: daughter, Jeanne Schloctermeier of Ellinwood; brother, Joe Wakefield of Udall; sisters, Garnet Hill of Rock, Margaret Bush of Wichita; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with The Center for Basic Cancer Research, Kansas State University.

Lowell S. Urie funeral Wednesday
Lowell S. Urie, 80, Wichita, stepfather of Judy Bryan of Augusta, died Sunday, Dec. 27, at St. Joseph Hospital.
His funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Wichita. Burial will follow in Lakeview cemetery.
He was born Aug. 16, 1907 in Buffalo, Mo., to James C. and Hester Ann Conn Urie.
Urie, a retired oil field driller, is survived by his wife, June; son, James of Houston; stepson, Andy Thomas of Lake View Terrace, Calif.; brother, Armon of Sedan; sister, Faye Adams of Chanute; seven grandchildren.
Augustan’s mother dies Christmas Day
Helen Breit, 79, Wichita, mother of Kenneth Breit of Augusta, died Friday, Dec. 25, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
Rosary was Sunday evening and the memorial service was held this afternoon, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Wichita. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, also in Wichita.
Breit was born Aug. 5, 1908, to Andrew and Catherine Kisner in Ellis.
She married Paul Breit in 1926. He survives of the home.
Breit was a retired motel and restaurant operator.
Other survivors include: daughters, Diana Wolfe, Joyce Armstrong, both of Wichita; sisters, Anna Kisner of Plains, Barbara Jacobs of Stratton, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hospice of Wichita.
